We rented (2) 2-seater jet skis for unguided play, and really enjoyed ourselves. One hour was sufficient. We were greeted by a friendly staff member promptly as soon as we arrived, and were given clear instructions about where we could go, how to operate the skis, and what time to return. The water in the bay was smooth and calm on the day we were there, with very little boat traffic (3pm, April 2021). We saw several dolphins, some quite close. Would do this again.

My framily of two teens and three adults did the dolphin jet ski tour and would DEFINITELY do it again every year. Such a fun and different experience. Aaron and Carter couldn’t be nicer and were great to hang out with. Even got a follow up call making sure everything went ok from Aaron. We saw lots of dolphins and also had time to play. Best new experience!

We are a family of 7 girls and we just got done with our dolphin jet ski tour, it was amazing! They were all so attentive and very helpful at rescheduling to make it work when the weather was bad at our scheduled time. David Katie Josh Anthony helped us and we’re all amazing. We would come back here any second!! The prices were soooo low as well. We looked all around and nothing could compare to the experience we had. We’d rate it more than 5 if we could!

The jet ski experience was just fine - 2 jet skis for an hour. They were in good shape, staff was fine, etc. The problem was we were quoted right at $100 ($99 and some change) for one hour for each. When we got ready to leave, the lowest option for a tip (if paying with a credit card) was 15%. We checked that one (so $30), but today, got our credit card statement, and we were charged $294.94. When I called, the girl who answered unapologetically told us "Well, there are additional fees and fuel charges." We absolutely were not told this at any juncture - when we made the reservation, provided our credit card #, before departure, or when checking the 15% tip box.
TIPS (pun intended): Ask them to confirm the entire amount before giving them your credit card information, and, bring cash for a tip if you are not inclined to tip 15% on $125'ish per hour jet skis.

My wife and I arrived at the designated time for our reserved waverunner dolphin tour to find no one from Extreme Watersports at the dock. After calling three different telephone numbers I was informed that someone from Extreme Watersports had called my cellphone earlier in the day to reschedule. My cellphone did in fact show two missed calls from an unknown caller earlier in the day. No voice message or no text. I consider this to be poor business practice and suspect that the tour was cancelled because there was no one other than my wife and I scheduled on that day. I was given a refund for the missed tour. But, I could have scheduled a tour with someone else if I had been informed earlier.

Only 2 riders allowed when you call
to book. Family looked forward to this all week. Looking at photos showing 3 riders. They wouldn’t let us book 1 single parent with 2 kids. So all you single parents with 2 younger children beware!! Complete disappointment.

My girlfriend and I decided to do the tour while in Gulf Shores because it offered the ability to rent a waverunner and see dolphins in one experience. We did get to see some dolphins up close while on the waverunners, which was really cool to see. The dolphins were following behind a shrimp boat with chum being tossed into the water. That was the highlight of the experience.
As for the waverunner experience, though, if you are not an experienced driver or have never ridden a waverunner before, you may want to think about whether you do this tour or not. My girlfriend and I were originally on a 2 person waverunner that was too small for us, and the waverunner rolled over on us at the beginning of the tour as the person on the waverunner next to us throttled up and created the wake that cause us to roll the waverunner (which was too top heavy with both of us on the waverunner0. My girlfriend struggled to get back ono the waverunner, so the tour guide on a 3 person unit offered her to get onto her's as it had a small ladder on the back. For the next part of the tour, I rode my unit by myself, which was a little easier as I was not worried about my girlfriend. The water was a bit choppy, and the waverunner was a bit difficult to control, especially when other vehicle's wakes would affect the path of travel.
After a while, I was offered to drive the 3 seater that my girlfriend was riding on, as it was supposedly more stable and would be better for the 2 of us. It was more comfortable for me to drive with her on it with me than the 2 seater. Unfortunately, though, it was not without incident. As a large power boat went past us quickly in the opposite direction, it created a large enough wake that it tossed the waverunner causing my girlfriend to fly off the back of the waverunner. Luckily, she was not badly hurt; however, we were left on our own without anyone to help us. She managed to get back on the unit, but she swears that she will never ride a waverunner again.
If you decide to do this tour, make sure that you know how to pilot a waverunner, especially if you ride with someone else on the back. If you are 2 adults, I recommend renting 2 units.
It can be a fun day for experienced waverunner drivers. Unfortunately, if you are not experienced, the tour does not offer much time to get comfortable and confident in you piloting skills.
Otherwise, the guides were very pleasant, and I am thankful that the one offered for my girlfriend to ride with her before we switched skis.

Unbeatable prices. Lowest in the area...trust me I checked. Turned out to be well worth the price. Josh gave us the rundown on orientation and got us afloat. Great guy and knows what he is doing.

My husband and I rented two Jet Skis to ride with our 8 and 12-year-old daughter’s. The person who checked us in was so friendly, polite, helpful, and attentive. After watching an 11-min safety video, we were given free reign within a large, but restricted, area. There were a few coves to explore, and a lot of room for driving fast and fun maneuvers. Highly recommend!

Without a doubt I would return here any opportunity I have where I need to rent a watercraft. The staff was so polite and accommodating. The equipment was also well maintained and the launch/dock area was most convenient setup I have ever seen with a jet ski establishment.

My wife and I have a 3 year old would she be able to ride with us
Written July 10, 2018
Hello,
The age of the riders (including young children) have no official requirements. It's up to the parent/guardian whether or not they feel their child is capable to ride.

Minimum age for renting waverunner? Minimum age for riding?

They do allow kids. Not sure how young. We had 7 year olds with us! We had no problem!

Hello - Looking for feedback on the "dolphin tour" versus just renting the wave runner for 90min?
On the "dolphin tour" is there a chance to just motor around or is it a slow follow the leader for 90mins?
Thanks.

we were taken out and shown the best places to see dolphins, but also given lots of free time to run around and enjoy the jet ski also.
