    Beautiful park
A beautiful park by the river. The riverboat is a great photo opportunity. We were there on a quiet weekday but I can see this area being full of people and activities on the weekends. With the train depot and covered area up the hill to the grass amphitheater near the water, a splash pad for the kids, historical markers to read and a baseball field in sight, this is a gathering place for the city!

    Nice riverview
Was able to park in a public lot close to the entrance. The only shade was in the tunnel on the way to the riverfront. This was a bad thing as I'm not used to humidity and it was a really hot day with no clouds. The riverfront was deserted (probably because everyone else was smart enough to stay inside with AC). Really nice view of the river though. The statue of Hank Williams was pretty cool too.

    Alabama River? Who knew?
I used to live on the banks of the Columbia River. I have seen the Missouri, Ohio, and Mississippi Rivers. I had never heard of the Alabama River despite it being twice as wide as any river in Colorado, including the Colorado River. This Riverfront Park is very nice. The adjoining outdoor amphitheater looked very inviting. Kudos to the people and City of Montgomery for having such a nice area.

    It depends on the music…
For Montgomerians this may be a wonderful attraction. But it depends on the music. As a river front walk, it is unusually disappointing. At most, it’s a quarter of a mile along the river, and so built up with brick and concrete that there is hardly any sense of being away from the city. I’m sure the concerts are often exciting. But why any tourist with limited time would spend any of it here rather than at Legacy Museum for the National Memorial for Peace and Justice is beyond me.

    Beautiful rive view at sunset.
What a beautiful park on the river! A river boat was in dock and made a nice front for the sunset pictures. The grass amphitheater looked like a great venue for a concert. It also looked like they had a kids splash fountain (it was shut off). The park felt like a safe place place for an evening stroll.

    Time for a walk
We had a nice walk along the river. We saw the riverboat, although it was too early to take it. The displays in the park were informative and well done. We understood the that we were there during off season, so this was just a chance for us to stretch our legs and take a quick walk.

    Most important history excluded!
This is the sight where thousands of slaves arrives in Montgomery to be sold. None of this history is discussed in any detail. Where are the historical markers discussing the significance of the rail road, and the river port to the slave trade, and how these people treated as property provided the economic foundation for the development of the city and the state? This history makes people uncomfortable, but it is the history of Montgomery and we need to come to terms with our past, not sweep it under the rug.

    Buy A Hammer
Talk about utterly boring. Next time you think about coming to Montgomery, take off your shoe and hit your big tie with a hammer to remind you to never go back. On a serious note, I would rather watch wallpaper paste dry.

    Love this place!
Riverfront park is right on the Alabama river. You can watch the sunset here. They also have the second Saturday of the month during warmer months where there will be live music, vendors and food. The Alabama RIver Boat is also in riverfront park as well as the Sand bar.

Can take a river cruise in the Alabama River
But not sure how much it costs because ticket office was closed. Read on historical marker that this was the site where the original slaves disembarked when being brought to Alabama in the 1800s

A relaxing place to enjoy the solitude of the riverfront; we went here during the day and it seemed very safe. I imagine during special events it would be very crowded. Kudos to the city for maintaining such an inviting riverfront area with so much to do and see nearby; the ballpark, bars, restaurants, Visitor's Center, Hank Williams Museum......very nice.

Lovely views to be had and a nice walk along the river. The station is here too. I would recommend a stroll.

We visited on a Friday, July 5. It was around 7:00 pm, and we thought there would have been something going on. Nothing was. Even the little bar wasn't open. The water fountains didn't work, and there wasn't any lights working in the restrooms. The place was beautiful, right on the Alabama River, but needs revitalizing.
