My family and I visited the Governor’s Mansion on a field trip. There were quite a few people on our tour but the guide did a great job of discussing the history and keeping the information exciting and educational. The mansion itself is simply breathtaking....More

We used to take our students here for a field trip. It’s a beautiful home (infinity mirrors, AL-shaped pool, etc). I would have given it 5 stars, but I don’t think it’s as open to visitors as it used to be.

We went to open house the week before Christmas. Lovely decorstions, school choirs singing, and history. As our Governor's home, I was disappointed in its disrepair & think as a State Building, It Should Show respect And Honor for our highest office. I did Enjoy...More

The Governor's Mansion is in a poor section of town and has very limited opening hours. So do not incorporate it into your trip planning, unless you are an Alabama resident and can plan around the restrictive opening hours.

When I visited, the Governor's Mansion was closed, which was just as well because I didn't have time to tour it anyway. The exterior was gorgeous, with beautiful iron gates, the First Lady's Rose Garden, and of course the iconic white mansion. I took pictures...More

This is a beautiful building in a rough area of the city. Make sure you use caution when visiting. Wish the neighborhood had been kept up.

Wow! We visited the mansion and what a wonderful time to share with our family! The attraction is free, so no worries for a large family or a family with lots of friends. The tours are only on the Mondays in December so make sure...More

The Governor's Mansion is a beautiful home located in a residential area of Montgomery. As of this writing, tours are given on Tuesday's and Thursday's from 10-2, so unfortunately, we weren't able to do a tour since we were in Montgomery over the weekend.

I did not take a tour, instead i just drove by and snapped a couple of photos. So i cant comment on the interior, but the exterior is beautiful. Definitely worth a quick drive by.

The house is kept in such good shape and it truly belong to Alabamians. Mrs. Riley opened the House up often during her husband's governorship. She wrote a great cookbook.
