Great place to see a great ship.
When I found out I was going to the Mobile area for a wedding I had to visit. Being a Navy veteran it was a no brainer. The Alabama was in great condition and my wife loved the tour as she got to see what the life of a sailor was like on board. The other airplanes and the submarine were great as well. Overall a great place to see some great military artifacts and vessels.
Thank you for visiting and for your review! We are so glad you and your wife enjoyed your time at Battleship Memorial Park.

Great historical place to visit. USS Alabama, lots of planes, helicopters, tanks, etc. on display. Also some memorials for Korean War, Vietnam, and the Dogs of the Wars. Clean and easily accessible. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the Mobile area.
Thank you for visiting and for your review, Sandy! We are so glad you enjoyed your time at the park.

    Impressive! Great history
Amazing! Was by far our highlight of visiting Mobile. So much interesting history and information. The self tours was easily marked and was impressed with how much access you have to the ship. Great artifacts and background on the ship.
Thank you for your review! We are so glad you enjoyed your time at the park and included us in your trip to Mobile.

Land Sea and Air, its all there
Extensive collection of military equipment with the Alabama as the center piece. Also has an impressive group of planes and army vehicles. Some of the plaques identifying the vehicles outside were missing but most in good condition. Also the submarine uss Drum was almost as interesting as the Alabama. Allow more time than you think, this is a large exhibit.
Thank you for visiting and for your review! We are so glad you enjoyed your time at the park.

A great piece of history to visit
This park is well worth the price of admission. We were on a tight schedule, so only spent a couple hours checking out all levels of the battleship, but you can easily spend a whole day checking out the battleship, submarine, planes and other aircraft on this property. The ship is well-marked and you are provided with self-guiding tour handout that helps explain what you are seeing. Also there are many interpretive plaques and signs for rooms and exhibits to help explain their role, how the rooms were used, etc. Also, there were docents in several areas of the ship to help answer any questions visitors may have. We would have stayed longer to check out the exterior of the battleship, but did not due to heavy rain.
Thank you for visiting and for your review! We are so glad you enjoyed your time at the park. We hope you come back to visit us soon when you have more time!

    The greatest generation really was...
Wonderful piece of history that highlights the bravery and ingenuity of the American people. Wear good walking shoes as the surfaces are uneven and can be slippery. Lots of stairways (ladders) to climb up and down and small spaces to enter. Lots of information and tons of planes and other military equipment around the grounds. Did not go into the sub but it was open also.
Thank you for visiting and for your review! Yes, we always recommend wearing comfortable shoes. We hope you will be able to come back again and tour the USS DRUM!

    one and done
I took my two boys aged 17 and 9. The cost to get inside the park is $5, but then the price to go ON the ship was very high at $19 per person and my kids said they were fine just walking around. We saw many different vehicles for air, water, and land travel, but there is a dog kennel right next to the coast guard things and it was very distracting. The temps were low and I'd propbaly be howling and barking non-stop as well, but it was not the best place for the animals. There were respectful memorials for all wars/conflicts and a gorgeous view of the water near one of the ships. The gift shop had had generic 'military' toys and merch, but also some nice postcards. I'd recommend going once, but not as an annual thing.
Thank you for your review. We are sad to hear that you did not have a pleasant experience at Battleship Memorial Park. Our ticket prices are as follows: Adult Ticket (Ages 12+) = $18.00 Senior Ticket (Ages 55+) = $15.00 U.S. Veteran Ticket = $15.00 Active Duty Military = FREE Child Ticket (Ages 6-11) = $6.00 Child Ticket (Up to 5 yrs) = FREE We also offer a $2 off coupon for adult tickets (up to 6 adults). Your admission ticket gives you access to the USS ALABAMA, our submarine the USS DRUM, and our Aircraft Pavilion. The $5 parking fee gives visitors access to the grounds as well as the fishing pier. Amazing experience
Aircraft museum, Battleship and Submarine tour all included with admission. Cost for military, veterans and seniors 15.00. 18.00 for other adults. Well worth the money. Minimum spend 3 hours maximum all day! Very much to see. Inside the battleship prepare for many ladders and winding hallways, stocked with ww2 uniforms, guns, cigarettes, candy, typewriters, books, just like a sailor would have had in his bunk or at the shop. Only outside of ship and aircraft museum wheelchair accessible and still worth it!
Thank you for visiting and for your review! We are so glad you enjoyed your time at the park. We are proud to be a Blue Star Memorial, meaning that all active duty military get in for free.

    Fun Family Activity- Educational
We surprised our kids with a visit here. We all had a blast! Our kids aren’t toddlers, they can handle the many stairs without us having to carry them. I saw others with very small children, and that seemed miserable to me. There are a lot of stairs/steps and head ducks! Our kids were recently studying some of the content in school, so it helped further bring things to life for them. They were excited to go back to school and share their experience.
Thank you for visiting and for your review! We are so glad you and your family had a fun and educational experience at the park.

    Rabbits Are Back
I always enjoy visiting this remarkable battleship, and the other military attractions; in this park. The curators and staff; are very helpful, friendly, and professional. The last time that I was here was two years previous in 2021. At that time; I had my two pet rabbits….Joey & Delta….with me. And now the newest addition to the family, Walter; was with us. This was Walter’s first battleship experience, and he seemed quite impressed. We always enjoy talking with other people; and telling them about this ship, and the rabbits are always the cause of people initiating conversation. I think that the new teak decking is beautiful, and we loved the diving locker exhibit. We might be back in April, but even if not; I will continue to always renew my membership. I will give it the highest possible rating of two rabbit ears up!! (\ (\ ( -.-) o_(“)(“)
Thank you for your review and for visiting us again with Joey, Delta and Walter! We are so glad you all enjoyed your time at the park again. Looking forward to seeing you all soon.

I visited her when I was a kid, I visited with my kids, and today was with my adult children and friends. To see a Capital Ship of the US Navy is a real treat and a great story. “The Mighty A” we honored her for her roll in World War II and the brave Sailors and Marines that served aboard. The Memorial Park, in Mobile, also has the submarine, USS Drum, a B-52, a collection of fighter and support aircraft and tracked vehicles. Great history stop. The Park entry fee is nominal to visit. Park, walk around, and see first hand. Tours of the ship and sub take more time and have additional cost. It’s really an investment.

We went later in the afternoon and weren’t able to see everything. My 14-year-old son is a history buff and wanted to look at everything. We ended up going back another day to see the vehicles outside. There is a $4 charge to get into the park, then additional charges to tour the ships. The large ship has three tours so you see all parts. I’d definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys history. Remember, those ships didn’t have air conditioning originally and it’s hot in southern Alabama. The park does a great job keeping temperatures bearable with A/C and fans, but take a bottle of water. It’s a lot of walking so wear comfortable shoes.

This is a must stop. Grab an Uber or taxi. $15 for general admission. $2 off with AAA card. Plan to be here for couple hours. A lot of walking. Very historic. There is ladder climbing to different floors which was sometimes pretty narrow and steep. Snack place and gift shop is available.

What a great piece of history. As a Navy veteran having passed through the area for training 20+ years ago it was really nice to see that this exhibit is still thriving. My sons (active duty Army) and my 10 year old daughter enjoyed being able to clamber around and see the sheer size of the battleship.

We did not know what to expect on this visit.
When you see how big the Alabama is, and you can walk nearly all over it, its awesome.
You can Learn what the crews jobs were, where they stayed an worked. The size of the guns and how they loaded them, prepared the ammo, was much to our amazement. We did not know about the catapult planes nor did we know how the were retreived.

Next we went to the submarine, it was huge also. The hallways and galleys were tiny to me, i couldnt go through too many.

It is amazing to see how much engineering went into these 2 ships

My husband and I visited the USS Alabama and USS Drum earlier this week. The tour was easy enough to follow with written instructions and signs around the ships. It's amazing just quite how big this floating town is inside! We spent about 2.5 hours on the ship. We then returned to the aircraft hall to use the bathrooms and cool down a little again, before heading over to USS Drum. It was super interesting to see by comparison how compact this is. We enjoyed climbing up the ladders to see the periscope. We spent about half an hour in this bit. I would recommend wearing trainers as I wore sandals and spent all the time worrying about stubbing my toe climbing through the doors. Definitely worth visiting and great know your admission fee is helping to keep this military history alive.

Thank you for your review! So sorry to hear about your toe. I'm sure those guys on the Drum stubbed their toes quite a few times since they also had to wear sandals on the submarine!

Since the first I had heard of this historical ship which was in 1963, I have wanted to travel to see it. It has been on my "bucket list" for a very long time, and I finally got there! I was awe struck! There is more than just the ship , museum, a submarine "The Drum" and other military vehicles and planes. My biggest complaint was having to climb all the stairs, but I knew that would be there. And more air conditioning was needed. I did travel there during a heatwave , so keep in mind that the South does have intense heat/humidity during the summer time.

Definitely worth a visit. Went during Covid so there were not too many people. The ship saw action in the Atlantic and the Pacific. Iowa class battleship. Several aircraft are also included in the museum and well as a WW II submarine that we enjoyed walking through.
