From the Battleship USS ALABAMA to the Submarine USS DRUM and over 25 aircraft, the spirit of military pride is alive and well.Aboard the battleship you will be able to explore 12 decks. Among those, you can climb inside gun turrets, get locked in the Brig, man a 12mm gun and much more. Also at the park, you will be able to go below and explore inside the oldest Submarine on display, Submarine USS DRUM. In the Medal of Honor Aircraft Pavilion as well as in the park, you will be able to view many rare and historic aircraft. A few in our collection include: A-12 Blackbird Spy Plane, OS2U Kingfisher, F-86L Sabre Jet, B-52 Bomber, just to name a few. You can spend a whole day here
Oct 2021
I stopped in here knowing I wanted to see the battleship, but I had no idea that this could be a full day activity. You can easily spend 2-3 hours touring the battleship and going through all three self-guided tours (red, green, yellow). Having the place dressed accurately for the WWII period is just the extra touch. Seeing the old school wrappers on snacks and staples was a great surprise. Getting to go through all the levels and seeing everything from the engine room all the way up to the bridge was also great. I found myself fascinated by funky little things I hadn't thought about - having a floating city of 2500 means you need tailors, athletic gear, pharmacy, movies, etc. Be aware the stairs are narrow and steep if you have any issues with mobility. The battleship is just part of the show. You can tour a submarine or check out various military aircraft inside and outside. Really a park that has so much to check out.

History at its finest. A must see.
Oct 2021
After getting close and personal with the many aircraft they have displayed both inside and out, we walked up the gangplank to the awesome USS Alabama.Allowed to freely explore the ship at your own pace was simply incredible. There is a theater that runs a 15 minute video giving the history of the amazing ship including how she got to where she rests today. Very informative. After that we spent over 4 hours exploring every deck of the ship. There are a LOT of steps to climb so dress comfortably. The ship is air conditioned throughout so each deck was quite comfortable. The displays were amazing and give you a real feel for what it was like to serve aboard the ship back in the day. I give a huge thank you to all who made this amazing journey through history possible and to those who maintain her in her glory today. Salute.

It doesn't get any better.

Alabama has a rich military history, and Battleship Park is a requirement for anyone who wants to understand and see how the people who served on ships like the USS Alabama and USS Drum lived. The park staff are phenomenal, and we spent 4 hours on the pavilion, USS Alabama, and USS Drum. We returned the next day to walk through the various memorials (Korean, Vietnam, and 911) as well as the aircraft, tanks, and other military equipment that are on display. Being able to walk up and touch a B52 bomber is worth the price of admission.

Keep in mind that there are a lot of steep, narrow stairs on the ship, and there are multiple levels that you'll be going up and down.

Great Attraction, a Must See!
Sep 2021
This attraction is a must see if you are near Mobile. The battleship was great by itself, but there are some planes and a submarine to see as well. You can walk through the whole battleship and submarine, so full of history and it is so cool to see the technology and conditions our service members lived during WWII. Friendly and knowledgeable staff onsite to ask questions. If you are a movie buff, there was a movie and some TV shows filmed at this battleship.

Hope they update the color-coded trails, use placards on the exhibits and eliminate the paper directions.
Sep 2021
Lots of access to different parts of the ship so it was interesting even if you've visited other similar exhibits.

3 color trails to follow, but only one (red?) was well marked to follow. We never found the beginning of either of the other 2, although we occasionally crossed their path.

Nice submarine exhibit as well, and aviation hangar. Great gift shop!

Amazing experience
We stopped by and spent over 3 hours at this great museum. The submarine is a good place to start but beware it does have narrow passageways and doors it is a submarine after all lol. The hangar has a little bit of everything then you move on to the USS Alabama. It is huge and follow the colors start with yellow 1 and then go to green then red. Ask the guys working on the ship and sub questions odds are they served on one like it at some point. We did and were amazed at the stories we heard from the sub and battleship.

Great family stop!
Passing through on a road trip, this offered a great 2-3 hour stop to stretch our legs and see some history. Adults and kids (ES/MS age) had an enjoyable visit. We arrived just as the park opened on a Saturday morning. Crowd was minimal, but grew pretty large as we were leaving (took it as our queue). Can arrive a little early and walk around to see the aircraft on the grounds prior to the boat entrance opening. We headed to the USS Drum first and had it to ourselves. Then moved onto the battleship and walked through the color coded self-guided tours. Hesitant to make this stop on our trip, but turned out to be worth it.

History at your fingertips
The USS Alabama was a very unique experience. While traveling to our destination in Florida, we decided to stop and see this battleship.

There was plenty of parking on the grounds. Several differnt spots near memorials of you don't want to walk to each one. We made iur way inside to see the exhibits they had to offer. Several planes and military vehicles, POW exhibit and much more.

We only had time to take in the USS Alabama. It was a self guided tour, where you got to explore the numerous decks. We were with our one year old daughter. So we parked the stroller, which you have to due to the many stairs to get to each level. The main deck and main inside deck were wheelchair/stroller friendly.

Battleship Bunnies
I had not visited USS ALABAMA (BB60) for quite some time, and I’ve been on a road trip that brought me through this area. All my previous pet (service animal) rabbits have visited WW2 battleships before; now it was time for Joey & Delta to visit one, so here we are. The battleship is still as awesome as my last visit, but she does need a lot of tender loving care. I encourage people to donate and to volunteer, because preserving this treasure from the past; is important for all future generations. My rabbits enjoyed their history lesson, but their stroller was limited to just exploring the main deck. We certainly enjoyed our visit, and hope to do so again. A top rating of two rabbit ears up!!
