Surprisingly happening for the South

The many choices of restaurants and bars along this calm, bikeable stretch of downtown street make it a good destination. Plus I appreciated this artwork.

Dauphin Street is a very picturesque street full of great restaurants & unique shops. This is the place to be during Mardi Gras. On the second Friday of every month they have Art walk, lot's of fun in a very festive ambiance.

Dauphin Street is a must when going thru Mobile. The old houses and the Spanish moss hanging from the trees...just beautiful! Then you get into the downtown district and the old buildings and atmosphere is nostalgic.

I loved this street and the rest of downtown Mobile. I was surprised at how clean it was and I saw no one begging for money. We walked around downtown early morning. Most of the locals were out running. There was a spot were people were doing outdoor yoga as well. Looks to be a very active city. We loved... More

Dauphin Street has some delicious restaurants, bars with live music and cute boutiques without the crowds of New Orleans. Much cleaner too! DumbWaiter restaurant is a must try. I had their fresh caught fish special, one of the tastiest meals I've had!

So much to see...hear...and taste! Bookstore, musician in the park, street art in progress, delicious food at A SPOT OF TEA...you will love it all! We were asked for money by a blind man that didn't seem so blind even though he had his dark glasses and a blind man's cane. We had previously seen these artsy parking meter like... More
