Nothing overly exciting as fountains go. A reminder of the past, in Queen Victories reign. The design is alright ,and there was water flowing thru it. you can not miss it if your going to the Dutch Square

Queen Victoria Fountain is for honor the queen of England, Queen Victoria. Still to be one of the landmarks of the Melaka City which until now is still functioning.

The location is not far from Clock Tower and the 'I love Melaka' sign. I came during the holiday season so the place was full of tourists so it was difficult to take photos in this area.

1. Queen Victoria's Fountain is in the heart of the Dutch Square of the historic city of Melaka. From here, you can walk to many of the other historical sites (The Stadthuys Malacca, Christ Church, the Tan Beng Siew Clock Tower, Middlesburg Fort, etc), tourist spots (Jonker Street, Maritime Museum, etc), and malls.

2. The Tourist Information Centre (beside the Middlesburg Fort) is just across the street. The centre has very friendly and helpful staff. BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE SCHEDULE OF THEIR FREE GUIDED TOURS.

3. One of the top tourist must-dos in Melaka is to get a by-the-fountain photo taken. On busy hours, you would need to queue in order to get a good photo beside this more than a century old Melaka icon.

The Queen Victoria's Fountain is located in the same area as The Stadthuys Malacca and the Christ Church. It is just beside the Clock Tower in the so called Red Square.

The Queen Victoria's Fountain is located in the same area as The Stadthuys Melaka and the Christ Church. It is just beside the Tan Beng Siew Clock Tower. The fountain was built to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria. The Queen Victoria Fountain was built in 1901 by the British. Although more than a hundred years old, this fountain is still functioning well and is probably the only functioning colonial water fountains in Malaysia. The fountain is a famous backdrop for visitors who come to Melaka. On the tip of the fountain says 'Victoria Regina 1837-1901, erected by the people of Melaka in memory of a great Queen.

A nice fountain that commemorates Queen Victoria, highlighting the British colonial era. It's great for photos at all angles around the fountain as the backdrops are interesting. Visit it in the day and at night ... it presents a different view.

This is really the town square of the tourist area of Melaka. There is a big I(heart)Melaka sign that everyone likes to get their pictures in front of, this is where to grab a tri-sha city tour, this is the heart of town.

Piece of British history in the middle of Dutch Square. Erected in 1904 by the people of Malacca in memory of Queen Victoria. Looking good for 114 years old!
