Raz Kashmir was recommended to me by some work colleagues from the US who raved about the singing bowls, unique jewellery and crafts, and most of all the hospitality of the owners. I came away from this Aladdin’s cave not only with gorgeous things… yes I did buy a singing bowl and an attention-grabbing ring… but most importantly new-found friends in Melaka. I've visited Raz Kashmir four times in 2013 and will be back when I next visit Malaysia. I wish we had a shop like this in Sydney. Check out the beautiful handmade Kashmiri shawls… my next target purchase.

We stumbled on to this shop yesterday after breakfast at our favorite Daily Fix Cafe. What caught my eye was the quality of the jewelry displayed outside his shop. The shop was much more quality rather than mass produced souvenirs. He spent time talking to us, not only about Kashmir, but about Mayalasia and the entire region, including culture and politics. The guy has a deep soul, very kind, amiable, English speaking. Highly recommended for a look. In fact, I am heading back later for a purchase.

We stumbled upon this delightful little shop by accident whilst visiting the old mosque & temple located on the same street. What a pleasant surprise it was to find another Kashmiri and in the unlikeliest of places!
The owner is incredibly warm & friendly and we talked at length about all things Kashmiri and our families' histories. Unfortunately we had little time to explore the shop properly as we were due to leave Melaka that morning and so we were in a rush. I would definitely visit again if in Melaka though as the shop stocks such a beautiful and eclectic mix of handicrafts from Kashmir and some other parts of Asia. I wish I'd had longer to rummage through the treasures, especially the shawls. Definitely visit this shop when in Melaka - you're guaranteed to walk away with a smile. :)

This is an excellent shop run by brothers who truly love what they are doing. Their passion for the artistry and their pride in the workers who create their products is admirable. It's obvious that just making money is not the reason these guys are in business.

I happened to be stayed at the hostel next to this lovely place & passed over the shop many times, before got intrigued by the antiques and beautiful crafts inside. I couldn't help myself & bought a beautiful wooden box (actually many things I would like to buy there) and made conversation with the owner, who was very friendly & insightful.
The interior was splendid, it's like being somewhere in Kashmir with all the carpets hanging on the wall. Definitely will recommend this Raz Kashmir Craft to friends, relatives, or colleagues who plan to visit Melaka.
