Doing some pre-reading will help you understand how unusual this mosque is in the Malaysian or even global context. Visitors are welcome inside but will be required to cover up appropriately. The architectural blend is pretty unique and the mosque is centrally located near other historical sites, which is useful.

The Kampung Kling Mosque is one of the oldest mosques in Malacca and one of many places of worship on the street known as Harmony street. For me, the building is notable for the eclectic mix of South East Asian, Chinese and Indian architectural styles. The main building of the mosque has clear South East Asian influences, while the gateway is Chinese influenced and the minaret is clearly influenced by Chinese style pagodas.

Worth a quick look to see such an eclectic mix of architecture.

A magnificent mosque located near the Chinese, Hindu and Buddhist temples in one row (in the photo it is located on the left, on the right side of the road towards the center). Today, believers still perform namaz here. The warm welcome and invitation to wait until midday prayer time to pray will forever remain in our hearts. This is exactly the place where we really want to return again the next time we visit Malaysia, because, unfortunately, we moved on and did not return by the indicated time. I'm very ashamed of this now. The kindness of the woman who gave us a tour of the mosque and the imam who came out to meet us is very valuable. We will try to correct this mistake in the future and will definitely come to Malacca again. Just for the sake of praying together.

This mosque recalls the Balinese style, inspired by Hindu temples and a Moorish minaret typical of Sumatra. It is one of the oldest mosques in the country. The current brick structure is more than 200 years old. Locals call it the Tranquerah Mosque, and the original 18th-century structure, made of wood brought from Kalimantan, Indonesia, was built in 1728 with Chinese-style embellishments, intact. Today, the main complex resembles most Malaccan mosques with a main prayer hall with a three-tiered roof and Malay, Chinese and Indonesian decorative elements.

This is a functioning mosque. Visitors please respect the local religious culture and cover up when in the compound. Do not unnecessarily invoke unpleasant feeling among locals by posing for pictures in a revealing clothing. It is a beautiful heritage mosque where daily 5 time daily prayer is still happening.

Beautiful architecture and nice white and green colour scheme matching. Located besides a Hindu Temple and near a historic Chinese Temple coexisted for a long past. A true multicommunal value reflecting the cohesiveness of the Malaccan people regardless of race and colour. A great place to visit and learn their respective history.

Beautiful mosque close to Jonker street. Heritage site as well. Built in 1748. The design of the mosque is so unique. Don’t have to miss your prayers when roaming around near the Jonker street.

This old mosque was founded by Indian traders in the XVIII century and mostly rebuilt in the XIX century. Though the interiors are simple and almost empty, the buildings are an odd mix of styles that are not normally associated to mosques. The pagoda like white minaret, Greek style columns, the green Indonesian style roof and the mix of Victorian and traditional Malay decoration make it one of the most striking and beautiful buildings of Melaka.
The mosque is still much in use so dress and behave appropriately when visiting.

This was not far from hotel and initially looks more like a temple architecturally. Strong Chinese influences.
There are robes for both men and women and head scarves available. All are needed.
Inside is peaceful and the mix of Islamic and Chinese features continues.
Worth a look.
