Situated right at the foothills of Bukit Cina, this cenotaph is dedicated to the Chinese victims who lost their lives during the Japanese Occupation here in Melaka.

This monument stands in tribute to the Chinese victims of Japanese occupation in Melaka in World War Two. The monument consists of a cenotaph inscribed with Chinese writing and the emblem of the Republic of Chinese. The monument is typical of far eastern style monuments with a low wall behind the cenotaph decorated with tiles. At the sides are some structures on the ground that look like symbolic graves markers.
There’s lots of information in Chinese, Malay and English at the monument site. It’s a shame that the monument is so far out from the centre of Melaka in Bukit China.
