Plenty of history in this house. A guided tour is available for both inside and outside. Lots of artwork and beautiful furnishings.

Not a long tour but very worth the stop. Painting and accompanying poems were very moving. I'll be picking up a book for my collection for sure.Interesting to learn about her success long before the official women's rights movement. Artifacts from the period and architecture were also of interest.

We arrived before the opening time so we drove around the area and admired all the beautifully restored homes in the neighborhood. Well worth our time. When we returned we found the doors still locked. A passing resident informed us the curator was out of town. Recommend calling before planning to stop here.

Very interesting place to visit, The Maria Wedden house has a lot of history about the home itself and much more about Maria and her work. Her art work is so true to life and form that in some cases you may think it was a photo. It was fun to see the construction of the building and to learn... More

Wonderful chock-full-of-history home. The story of Howard Weeded is quite fascinating. While there is not that much in the home per se, it is still well worth the visit when downtown.

We had a wedding reception here. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. Many of the local caterers and other vendors are familiar with this venue and that makes it easy for them to set up and do what is needed to help everything run smoothly. The historical part of the home is also interesting and informative. The director is... More

Others have said how well Weeden House has been preserved.. I can only say that this is due to the dedicated hard work of Ms. Lynn Williams, the Curator. If such a thing were possible, she should be made an 'Honorary' member of the Family!

This is a museum in the private home of artist and poet (Maria) Howard Weeden. The cost is $5 and the tour is about an hour long. I found it to be a fascinating glimpse into not only Weeden's life and art, but also the early history of Huntsville and North Alabama. Like many private museums, Weeden house has had... More

I just moved to Huntsville and have been exploring all the gorgeous antebellum homes in town. This house has been kepted up wonderfully. Most of the decor and furniture is donated but you can really feel like you have traveled back in time. I definitely recommend for any history lover!!
