This is a large park that is beautiful and relaxing; great place to rest, exercise, or picnic; the ducks, geese, and kio are all enjoyable to feed and interact with; depending on the time of year, there are special events and activities in the park; spring time hosts Panoply Arts Festival; in the winter there is ice skating and Christmas... The number one thing that pleases me about this park is the friendly ducks that strut around to claim the park as their own!!! Naturally humans gladly assist them by feeding them and the fish that float in the pond. My only wish is somehow that the city of Huntsville can make this beautiful park bigger than what it is!!!

The lake area is a nice place to take kids during your downtown visit. At Christmas it is a must see as all around the lake area are decorated Christmas trees. Ducks can be seen and a quite walk or sitting by the lake in the shade is nice. Parking is all around on the city streets by the lake.... More

Even in the extreme heat of summer in Alabama, it is good to have somewhere to be able to get out to and enjoy. This park offers lots of shade, water, birds (watch for geese droppings!) fish, and benches, as well as bridges and paths to walk. Sure it's hot, but don't just hide inside--go explore! Just bring along a... More

Big Spring Park is fun on Mondays during the summer for the Concert in the Park and during Panoply Arts Festival. The food trucks and music are awesome. Christmas time is fun too with the different corporations trees and ice skating.

What a great park for a downtown area. The park has a nice lake that has canals on both ends with fountains, a waterfall and a nice decorative bridge. Great for families to walk around and feed the ducks and fish.

"Downtown" Huntsville is a rather small and quaint area of restored stores which are now art galleries and restaurants. Big Spring Park is adjacent to downtown on one side and the Huntsville Convention Center on the other side.
