There are two beautiful scenic overlooks in Monte Sano Park where it is possible to see much of Huntsville. Both are easy to access, and it is possible to look far out from up high. Neither point faces west, so a lovely view, but not for sunset.

This is a great place for hiking or just admiring the view. Take a camera and some good footwear and enjoy!

A quiet and peaceful get away so close to to the city. Such a great place to get away and leave the hustle and bustle and enjoy nature. You can camp there and bike ride. Camp sights are first come first serve, and is always a great time!

I like this park and have visited it several times over the past couple of years and have been quite shocked at how the entry fee has gone up. Started out at $3.00 and then went to $4.00 and now is $5.00 per person. For a typical family of 4 adults that is 20 dollars to get in. All that... More

I do hate that we've had to raise our rates in recent years, however I assure you it was unavoidable. Thank you for being true to the honour box and I hope you and your family will plan a full day in our beautiful park soon! More

We hiked three different trails. They were all well marked and well maintained. The trails are heavily wooded so it was cool in the shade which was great for July. It was not heavily traveled so we had it to ourselves. So peaceful. Some historical markers along the way that we enjoyed. Wish we had more time here. It is... More

If you like to hike, picnic, play or camp out, Monte Sano State Park is the place to go. You can even rent party areas for birthday or any other party. Simply the place where you and your family and friends can enjoy the outdoor.

There are 2 covered pavilions to reserve, a rough baseball field and park, plenty of hiking paths (one goes under a rocky overhang - easily accessible), an amphitheatre, a new lodge (rentable, and very nice for big reunions/weddings). There are camping areas and cabins with screened in porches, available. A nice veiw of the valley from the main part (as... More
