Monte Sano is a great place to spend some time. We stayed in the primitive campsites as part of our Webelos Cub Scout Camp out. It was about a 10 minute walk to the bath house and the bathrooms were clean. We hiked a lot and the kids really enjoyed it. We had a 5 year old who was able... More

I love the trails to the water tower. When I was younger, I preferred the spacewalk trail. The views are unmatched around here.

We spent three nights here in a lovely park with a decent amount of privacy. We were in a "doubles" site with friends. Lots of trees. Easy access to Huntsville. Great overlook.

In Huntsville for a week in 38 foot RV. We usually stay west of town but stumbled into this gem and wont stay anywhere else for future visits. Campsites are level and spacious. Some really long for bigger rigs. Trees between each site keeping the in-the- woods feeling. Campground behind access gates so safer than alot of state parks we... More

We went just for the views. It only had one lookout to see the mountain. But was beautiful. Great for staying in a cabin I can imagine and train. We saw a lot of people riding bikes which seemed like that would be awesome.

We made a quick stop here since we'd seen it before and had really loved it. Someday I'd sure like to spend a couple of days in one of their cabins.

Went up for some sunset views and got a few, over wooded hills. Wouldn't know you are so close to a city. Also on the slopes there's the Three Caves site with live concerts.

I have stayed at these cabins many times and have never been disappointed. They are the epitome of getting away from it all but still being 10 min from civilization.
