What a lovely way to spend some time enjoying the outdoors. The grounds are lovely. The lake has numerous ducks, geese, fish, turtles and you can purchase small bags of feed for 25 cents, so the kiddos can feed them. Luckily we were there when the geese had their babies and were SO cute. It is open to the public during the day and is FREE (also FREE parking). Late afternoons are for members only, and they have certain days when members can fish and/or bring their dogs (check their website). They also offer summer morning camps (grades K thru 4th). All the kids were so enjoying themselves. Wish I had had more time to check out some of the walking trails. Grandkids enjoyed the feeding of critters. Recommend bringing a picnic lunch. Gift shop was small, but nice. And the volunteers were extremely helpful. They do have a donation box on the way out, and that is up to you, but it was well worth a few dollars to keep such a beautiful place available to the public. You can come and go as you please.

On Sundays, we usually try to go for a drive and explore something new. We did a search for parks online and found this. Neither one of us had heard of it before and decided to make the drive from the Chelsea area. Wow, we were very pleasantly surprised. Lovely gardens for strolling. You can even purchase food to feed the ducks from the bridge or boardwalk area. It also hosts special events in the pavilion area. There was prep for a wedding going on when we were there. Restrooms are also available. We have since returned to this hidden gem to spend quality time.

The park is well worth an hour walk for garden lovers. they have a great variety of everything, but it is best visited in early spring when the azaleas are out.

Aldridge Gardens is a beautiful natural respite in Hoover, Alabama. It is a quiet and peaceful park just off a busy road. The flowers, trees, and pond are arranged in such a way as to make for a very restful atmosphere. There is a walking trail that winds throughout the gardens.

Took 2 little girls here for a picnic - after walking around a little we found a picnic table near the lake - had our lunch and went to feed turtles/fish. Be sure to get your food in the gift shop - pellets for them. Bread, etc not good for their stomachs. Fed the turtles for a while - so many!! Hiked around the lake and just enjoyed the beauty of the land. Didn't find garbage cans - so brought my trash home - but would be a great idea to provide some trash cans around the property. Overall - very enjoyable way to spend a couple hours.

Need an hour away from the busy-ness? Take a walk, sit on a bench, admire the beauty or have a picnic lunch. Nice place for a break. Great art shows, plant sales, wedding venue, etc. also. Treat yourself!! 😎🌿🌺🌻🍁🍃🌾

Great - free - urban gardens, featuring the signature Aldridge Snowflake Hydrangea, and other seasonal favorites like azaleas and camellias - many perennials, too. A nice place to take a walk on their paths, have a picnic, or just sit and enjoy the surroundings.

I like it my son likes it, and when single that and the zoo were places I'd go to see if I liked the girl and how well we would get along ----any one can go somewhere noisy or a play or show--here you have nice looking back round and must actually talk.
