I attended a field trip with my son's 2nd grade class to Aldridge Gardens. I had no idea this place was so scenic and available for the public to view. The gardens were beautiful, and the staff was helpful. The kids got great demonstrations on which types of soil are better for growing plants and also got to make compost... More

Aldridge Gardens is a lovely place to relax with a book by the lake, stroll through a meandering path bordered by Snowflake Hydranges (and other varieties), pause by the babbling brook as it makes its way to the lake, or do a power walk around the perimeter. The house and pavilion are lovely venues for receptions and parties. Inside the... More

The layout is very pretty with a trail around the pond providing a nice view. There is very little incline so an easy walk and not very long. Lots of spots to just sit and enjoy the peac and quiet. A lovely escape.

A friend introduced me to Aldredge Gardens many years ago. I visit there nearly monthly when I need to get away from it all. The sensation is amazing from the first time you walk through the gate. You are no longer in Hoover or Alabama for that matter. You have stepped through a portal into another world. Pack a lunch,... More

Beautiful gardens, relaxing; however, recently attended a wedding and reception on the grounds. Promised several items that were never delivered, several items in contract were not accurate. Paid for rented heaters--never provided--person working reception didn't have keys to get them out, so everyone suffered because they were ill-prepared. Website says bride's area would be secure and safe to leave valuables.... More

A beautiful setting. Don't miss the house interior. A nature walk of contentment on well-manicured woods.

It was a lovely March afternoon when I stopped at the gardens for a stroll. Entry is free with a donations box posted at the entry/exit. There are a few paved paths so that visitors with mobility issues can enjoy a visit. A longer natural path winds up and down hill through the woods around the lake. Frank Fleming bronze... More

Aldridge Gardens is hidden on a bend of Lorna Rd. right in the middle of Hoover and just south of B'ham. It's a lovely place to spend a peaceful afternoon wandering the gardens or walking the pathway around the lake. On sunny weekend days it can get quite busy, but on weekdays you can pretty much have the place to... More

I really enjoyed my time walking around. Loved all the sculptures around, the geese swimming, the flowers blooming and the little water fall. My new favorite walking area.

Visiting a garden in January, one doesn't expect many blooms. However we totally enjoyed our stroll through Aldridge Gardens. The paths are wide, the weeds minimal, the upkeep in great condition. The placement of the sculptures enhanced the experience. And the lady inside the office allowed us to come in and view the display of smaller sculptures and art even... More
