Parasailing line break Had a unique experience when we went to parasail , but today I see some one commented on it , but left out a lot of details . When my wife and daughter arrived to the boat ,the male ( Trevor ) was nauseous and decided to return to shore so the banana boat came and took him to shore then we received more riders, then we got a call that Trevor wanted to try so we waited again for his return and when ready let them go first . As the family slid off the back of the boat and were rising to about 20 ft the rope did break , I was watching and yelled at the crew. The captain immediately turned the boat notified his emergency on a walk-in talkie and the mate grabbed a life preserver and stripped off his shirt , as the family descended slowly into the water the captain was yelling instructions and to just hold on and remain calm and asked them if they were ok or hurt. the mate dove in and unhooked the chute and began dragging the family toward the boat , approx 15 feet. The two banana boats were on site . I grabbed the bar that suspended the family and reassured then that I had them ,and that they were ok , ,they were calm . The mate (Sawyer ) then physically lifted each person onto the boat and . The captain kept asking all of the people onboard if we were ok , and once on board asked the family members repeatedly if they were ok , all while dealing with a downed chute and multiple calls and communication on the W/T . Once onboard the father ( Trevor again became Nauseated and began vomiting , the mate held him as he heaved over the front of the boat while the banana boats were getting positioned to return them to shore but ropes and chute had to be secured .the Captain (Jason ) remained very aware of the family , while he was operating the boat , securing the chute , watching the family and untangling ropes from the side of the boat so the banana boats could approach . And communicating with shore and the other boat captains who were ready to assist . I personally was assisting with the chute and ropes,as was another passenger. .all ( all of which were very calm and cooperative during this event) . As Medical Professional I practice for emergency procedures often and I can assure everyone that I saw that training come into play immediately . After the Family was returned to shore a new rope and chute were rigged and we enjoyed a fantastic safe fun experience. This is a Long post but it is unfair that such a negative post get posted without corrections. The Short statements about” freeing themselves from the harness,”” make it back to the boat “and” Back to the shore”. Were done by the ships Crew and passengers and lots of other trained , experienced people, all the while the mom held her son and the dad was throwing up. Parasailing is a 99.9 % safe adventure and the ship Captain (Jason ) and mate( Sawyer) had years of experience , had met required USCoast Guard requirements and were efficient , expedient , calm .and aware of the passengers at all times . I will definitely support this crew for their dedication to the family and the other passengers and applaud their professionalism . Sincerely Rollin Scholz .

Ike’s is the best service I have ever experienced when renting beach chairs. We were there for 10 days and a crew led by Lauren was amazing. Lauren was out early every morning ensuring her team was setting up chairs before customers even expected them! She and her team accommodated all requested to move chairs around etc and were very responsive. We rented our chairs at Phoenix West II. I will definitely look for Lauren and her team again when considering the condo I stay in on OBA.

We recently returned from a visit to Phoenix West II in Orange Beach and used Ike's Beach Service. The service we received from Matthew was exceptional - he was polite and professional while dealing with all sorts of customers and stress, both from the oncoming storm and from the typical customer demands. We admired his work ethic and energy from early in the morning to late in the day. If I owned a business in Orange Beach, I would be trying to hire this young man away to work for me - you cannot teach this sort of drive and professionalism and it was a pleasure to see him take pride in his work.
