What a great choice this was for a quiet day of kayaking. We only saw 2 other kayaks the whole day. It was an easy location to find, and we were on the river in minutes. We saw a lot of birds and a boat stopped us and said they had seen manatees, but we never found them. This was... More

This was my first time on a tidal stream in a kayak and I highly recommend it. River Rick was great and the Bon Secour river beautiful. Thanks for the victory pops, Rick!!!

What a cool kayaking experience. You go to Jerry's house and leave from his back yard. When you first get on your Kayak it looks like you are on a small creek. Its shady, romantic and beautiful. The water is shallow and where the sunlight shown thru we could see turtles swimming on the bottom. The creek opens up into... More

We did some fun stuff in Gulf Shores, but none as fun as a family kayak trip down the Bon Secour. This is for sure a mom'n'pop place run by Rick who really loves this place and loves sharing it with others. His only goal is to keep things relaxed, low-key and to make sure you have a good time.... I did not know there was a kayak rental place so close to Foley/Gulf Shores beach area. I found BeachnRiverKayakRental on the web. Their website is currently down but they have a Facebook page. I inquired and left a phone message early in the day before I started my trip from home. This is a Mom and Pop operation so... More

Our group of 6 including two teen girls, 2 nine year old boys and 2 adults- none of us had ever kayaked- but is was THE favorite activity for all of us! The owner was super friendly and made us feel confident to navigate the Bon Secour on our own. We made it to the half way point- 2.5 miles... More

My husband and I took our 17 yr old granddaughter and had a nice time. We took our lunch, and pulled our ocean kayaks out of the river to have a break. Very peaceful and serene. I was very apprehensive as I do not swim. The water is very shallow, and the kayaks are easy to row. We will return... More

This was a great adventure. my family really enjoyed it. Started out at the beginning of the Ben Secour River which was about 20 feet wide and by the time we got to our half way point it was about 300 feet wide. river had a great temperature for a hot day. Depth, I would say, was not more than... More

Reserve your trip at least one day ahead with this Mom n' Pop business as they have an answering machine and return calls the night before your trip. Wear your swim suit and long sleeve sun shirt if possible. Hat a must. Sunglasses strongly recommend. Bring a water proof bag for your camera and lunch. There is no food or... More

Took my wife and kids. None had kayaking experience. Ocean kayaks made for being more stable helped. They loved it. Be prepared to have to seek shelter from a heavy rain shower in a covered boat slip. People around there dont usually mind that. Dont do the beach the whole time your in Gulf Coast go kayak Bon Secour
