I never knew this was here. I was so happy to find such a living museum of mounds and information about the people that lived there hundreds of years earlier. It was a lovely trip. Beautiful well-maintained grounds. A secret that I was glad to uncover.

We were so surprised to find that this mound & museum are practically right in the middle of town. It is a small museum but worth the trip if you like history of this nature. You can also walk up steps to reach the top of the mound if you wish.

We were there today to see the museum. The mound is clearly visible from the street. The gate is paddle locked and the museum is closed. There happened to be a park employee locking-up as we pulled in. We were informed that a new museum building is being built on the site of the old building. The museum will be... More

The Mound is a beautiful place among an industrial area. The history surrounding the Mound amazing. At one time there was a house built on top of it but within a year it was torn down and the boards tossed from the top one by one. The property was deeded to the City of Florence for preservation and protection for... More

We were unable to get into the museum, so review is for outside area only. Historically interesting and the hike to the top of the mound is quite a hike. We will put on our stop back list to visit museum.

A bit difficult to locate, but worth the effort if you're interested in Native American artifacts and information. The mound overlooks the Port of Florence and is tucked away in an industrial area behind the Lauderdale Cty CoOp. The museum is small and is hidden by some shrubbery so we almost missed it. GPS has trouble finding the location, but... More

The Indian Mound is not much to look at any more due to the commercial / industrial growth around it. However the Museum is well worth the visit.

If you have nowhere else to go and you want to go visit then I'd say give it a go look see otherwise I'd visit elsewhere.
