This museum is amazing!! The main exhibit is very well done and takes you through thousands of years of history of the Shoals area. The mound itself is accessible and the staff are super friendly and helpful. This place is awesome!!!

I'm SO glad that I started my tour here -- this museum is much more than a hometown museum: They packed 10,000 years of North American history into their small but well-organized rooms. Displays were easy to understand (but just right for adults and children...More

This museum, opened in 2017, does a very nice job of illustrating the history of Native Americans in North America, with a special emphasis in the exhibits of recent history on tribes from this area. This is the first Indian mound I have visited. While...More

The new building is very well done with lots of stone tools, arrowheads and pottery. The interactive displays are fun and interesting. There is an informative video too. Then you can walk to the top of the mound and look around. Admission is $5 for...More

This a new small local attraction. It was neat and the person there knew some neat information. It's great for school kids and adults alike just a small place but the actual mound is on the premises.

The brand new Florence Indian Mound Museum opened in January 2017. My family ventured in on a rainy Saturday afternoon for our first visit. We were in awe at the beauty of the museum. For a town the size of Florence, this is a very...More

The Indian Mound and Museum is an amazing place. Crammed in between businesses though beautifully done. The museum takes you back in time to see, feel and learn how our Native American ancestors lived in the Shoals area. The 71 steps to the top of...More
