Our first time to hike this distance over a strenuous terrain. We were worked to our max by the time we finished, but we had a smile on our face. Be sure to take plenty of water. Trail is more treacherous near the wall and...More

The trail is very rocky in stretches and the elevation change is challenging. This is not a casual hike ! Be prepared, start early, take food and water.

After reading a plethora of reviews I was a bit anxious about the hike out. It took us 2 hours in and amazingly 2 hours out! I was stunned! I'll stay longer at the canyon next time. AND I'm SO glad I'd read about climbing...More

Stopped by to hike the Walls of Jericho on my way through Alabama. It's about 7.5 miles total on an in and out type trail. When you get to the amphitheater, it is very cool but you'll notice all the water from the waterfall is...More

Walls of Jericho is great for backpacking if you like camping a little off the beaten path. I go solo with the dog every year, and never have any problems, but did see a large rattlesnake once. Not a too crowded place when you have...More

Went over easter weekend and had a nice hike down to a valley campsite about 2 miles in from the AL trailhead. Several other groups camped there, but it is a large area and could accommodate several more. We hiked out to the walls the...More

This was my first time here and first time backpacking. I was well aware of the steep incline we would need to take heading back out so as long as you are prepared mentally and physically you should be ok. It was definitely worth it...More

This is about as steep a hike as you can get and still be in Alabama. It is best to be prepared with plenty of time and water - it is an effort to get here- allow plenty of time to hike all the way...More

This is a really nice place, but a tough hike, especially when wet. The trail is not well worn and it is easy to get off trail, expecially on the way up as the trail is easier to see when looking down. Cooler in the...More
