Dauphin Island is a beautiful beach, lots of sand in this area and shallow water. Take the time to walk the sand bar!

The beach is deep here so be prepared for a long walk on the beach to get to the ocean. Beautiful sand and so much space. Even with a ton of people, you feel like you’re alone on the beach. Plenty of trash cans (please...More

Very sandy, almost white beach. I walked in late afternoon and it was beautiful with plenty of seabirds, and a great sunset. Few shells the few days I was there.

Dauphin Island beach rentals do not let you know that there "pet friendly" unit mean an extra $100 per pet is add when you get there unless you call and ask this is bad for returning people.

We drove to the public beach located at the end of the island to watch the sunset. It was beautiful and very peaceful. The beach was very clean and well maintained.

I love the peaceful beach here! The water isn't pretty (kinda brown) but it's warm and the beach is sandy and comfortable to walk on.

The west end of beach is best for shelling, but you will need to go right after a storm to find the nicest ones.

Not the best shelling most days. After a storm you may find more shells and ‘treasures’. Having said that, our daughter found two beautiful whole sand dollars on regular morning walks. Good luck!
