Good trail with nice scenery but was really hoping for more birds. We may have been a little late for the spring migration. Only saw three birds at the lake and some turtles. Don't forget the insect repellant like we did!

Nice quiet walk. Saw lots of turtles and some birds. Even saw Alligator in the lake. Take your time and listen to the sounds of nature.

We were a little early for the spring migration. But we came twice during our 4-day stay on D.I. It's just peaceful to be there to walk and see the usual winter birds. I added the Carolina Waterthrush to my life list anyway. The big...More

The local Audubon society does an excellent job of maintaining this property. On our visit in February, it was a peaceful oasis. Unfortunately, we didn't have as much time to spend here as I would have liked (should have spent less time trekking around Shell...More

I hate to post this because I think this is one of the best-kept secrets of the gulf coast. This park is spectacular in its natural beauty. You can walk along a small lake, walk across the boardwalk through the swamp, and walk out onto...More

This little corner of Dauphin Island has been set aside just for the wildlife. It's a nice, shady place to go if you need a break from the sun, beach, and beer-swilling tourists. There is a lake, a swamp, and a dunes area. There wasn't...More

Well-marked paths, interesting views, definitely worth a stop. We saw an alligator as well as various bird species.

We were a little too early for the songbird migration but loved seeing the Great Horned Owl youngsters. Nicely maintained paths to follow.

I'm not sure about guided tours. We were there toward the end of the day and didn't see any.
