The origin of the name Maragogi is of the old Tupi that means "river of the cats of the bush", was chosen that name due to the river that bathes the municipality. The municipality of Maragogi is located in the state of Alagoas, in the state of Maceió.

One of the main tourist attractions in the state, the tourist attractions that attract most in Maragogi are the beaches of Peroba, São Bento, Barra Grande and Burgalhau. Beaches of natural pools, calm sea, white sands and reefs where it is possible to bathe next to colorful fish.

Another strong point in Maragogi is its rural tourism in the farms Cachoeira and Marrecas.

This place is in Old Recife( Recife Antigo) and you will find lots other places to visit near by it. The Caixa cultural Recife is an old building that was recently open to visitation. There is a glass floor in one of the floors that gives you a great view of the inside building from upstairs. Very nice place to visit. Explore the other historic sites around it. You will finds great places to visit and nice restaurants in the area. I highly recommend it

Is located opposite Ground Zero. The building was designed by Henry Georges Munier to host the Bank of London & South America Limited - Brazilian Bank Limited. His eclectic architectural building feature, the transition neoclassical style, standard model of the late nineteenth century. Inaugurated on May 15, 2012, "Caixa Cultural-Recife" has two floors of art galleries, theater with 96 seats, multimedia room, two rooms for workshops in art education and foyer. Presents a varied program that includes exhibitions, film and theater. The exhibitions are free. Cinema and theater are paid and must be purchased in advance. See schedule on facebook (https://pt-br.facebook.com/CaixaCulturalRecife). The renovation of the building is an attraction, displaying remnants of the old buildings of the site and a glass floor on the second floor.
