That's a beautiful place, historical and important for Recife's citizen. But also dusty and carelessness with old and abandoned buildings.

Interesting place to visit as the point from which all distances in Pernambuco are measured. Historically significant and in a glorious city square surrounded by the old buildings of ancient Recife. Excellent restaurants close by with good choice from coffee shops to seafood specialists. Would recommend a visit

Marco Zero means initial point, that is where the city was born. Place is full of history and good restaurants. Walk around and you are going to be in a more than 400 hundred year old buildings.

Starting from here you can go visit almost all the old Recife buildings by foot. To do that you will need aprox one day, having in mind you go visit some of the museum as well. Would recommend this on days when the weather is not that good and you don't feel like going to the beach.

This area is very vibrant with lots of things to do. This is regarded has the centre of the city with lots of colonial buildings from both the Portuguese and the Dutch. Many of the buildings have been restored particularly around this area. There is a handicraft building selling lots of goods at reasonable prices from the area. In addition... More
