Only for the religious minded

This temple is located on the banks of the river Hoogly and is next to a crematorium. This is a Shiv temple and is more associated those visiting the crematorium for final rites of those being cremated. Nothing worth about visiting, though the temple is always thronging with worshipers.

Temple is situated at cremation junction and on bank of river hooghly.
Life and death. Reality is right in front of your eyes.
I went at late evening, the feeling is calm and area is different for obvious reasons.
Temple is well maintained and has rush. Young, old, men and women all come to temple.
I had apprehension with temple near cremation ground as we follow set of rules going there.
But it was good feeling going to the temple.
Going to temple it is advisable to take taxi... Parking is problem.
With Temple on left proceed further and there is litti chokha centre. Tea is also speciality here. Litti are of size of lemons. There will be rush at the shop... Eat there only...

I visited this Shiv temple in the banks of the Hugli river during the religious occasion at our home with our Guruji! It is a very renowned Shiv temple of Kolkata which we visited for the first time. It's open in the morning and again from the evening. It's considered very holy and hence this temple is usually very crowded. It's best to visit here by taking a public transport like uber or bus as parking is very difficult to manage in this area. It's a great visit for people who are religious and like visiting temples.

Located near the Nimtala cemetery this temple is the temple of the God who protects against all the evil and dark forces. This place is a beautifully built and spacious temple with a lot of worshipers coming here everyday. This place is therefore a must visit for any praying man.

Let God be in peace
Oct 2015
I have been visiting the temple everyday since October 1977. The Character of the shrine has changed. It was earlier a place when depressed and distressed people would come for solace. Now the entire space has been taken by bikers who have no respect for the law. Strangely that the police traffic guard and the police station do nothing about it.There is a police post which is ineffective. Situated next to the Cemetery of Rabindra Nath Tagore this temple could have become a major tourist attraction as lot many people who wish to visit the Cemetery as well as offer their prayers in the temple avoid doing so because of the unruly traffic. If only the Police could regulate the traffic in the vicinity this place could turn out to be as popular as Lord Vishwanath temple in Varanasi

Total Peace

Holy place.. Have visited this place many a times and have felt at peace each of the time. This mandir is always crowded with devotees pouring in all the time. It gets specially crowded on mondays and special days like maha shiv ratri.
