eye opening experience
May 2018 • Solo
Thanks to the sisters of the Missionaries of Charity together with volunteers the children in this home have hope for a better future. At the moment of my visit 122 children were taken care of. They all looked in good condition an well feeded. Adoption procedures are all stopped. Sishu Bhavan is home for smaller children, when they grow up they move to another home of the congregation. I was very moved during my visit at this children home. It is just one aspect of poverty in Kolkata, thanks to the continued work of Mother Teresa people find a shelter here.

If you have kids - you should definitely bring them here - not only is this informative but also educational for the kids - and at a very low price.

Haven for Children
May 2015 • Friends
Great experience volunteering with the children here. The children can teach you so much about happiness and pure joy. As a volunteer, you also get to interact with the sisters and the women that work there as caregivers (they are called moeshis). The sisters also have an adoption agency. Truly opens your eyes and heart to other aspects of poverty and hardships that exist in calcutta.

Good place for toddlers - collection of dolls unique
Nov 2013 • Family
With kids - surely have a round for an hour. Have a look around the varieties of dolls collections - some donated by influential families and citizens. Epics - Ramayan, Mahabharata depicted in models with narrations - a true learning area for kids. Very nominal ticket fees.
