As we were visiting with family, went to see this place. Situated on he bank of river. Probably bakes of holidays, the place was full of visitors with long "Q". As with most temples of India, this place was also not clean.

They close the mandir at 12pm every day. I recommend arriving as early as possible to avoid lines in the sun. They reopen at 3pm if you must come in the afternoon.

Budget is maximum $80 but would prefer closer to $50 per night. We will require luggage storage too as our train to Varanasi doesn't leave until 7pm. Transport to Dakshineswar Kali Temple and Belur Math (15 Replies)
Hello. I will visit Kolkata later this month and I am planning to visit Dakshineswar Kali Temple and Belur Math. I am thinking of taking a train from Dum Dum to Dakshineswar, a bus from Dakshineswar to Belur Math, and then return with a train from Belur Math to Howrah. Do I need to buy the tickets for the two train rides (Dum Dum to Dakshineswar, and Belur Math to Howrah) in advance? I can't find the ticket on IRCTC website. If there's a better way to go to these two places, please...More

Ticket for the trains available at railway booking counter of the respective station on journey date. No advance booking is required. You can avail ferry service from Dakshineswar and Belur, it will be a pleasant journey than bus.
