You have to be very careful in this place. The temple is hijacked by touts and brokers. A good temple badly maintained by the authorities.

I donot why government is so quite on the current condition of this temple. Don't get scared temple is good place to visit but the only here is mismanagement,money demanding pandits :p. It is highly recommended to skip this destination if possible. There's absolutely no point in visiting it. Its more of a business centre than a temple. "Officially recruited" pandits will catch you every now and then and ask you for extra money so as to enable you to enter the VIP or VVIP or VVVIP lines for darshan with the... More

I visited this temple several times.This Temple is among the 52 saktipiths of in India.Here the toe of leg of sati was fallen during the tandava of Lord Shiv. Its waste of time, Yes i am religious but the pandits over here are just behind money. they loot tourists like there is no tomorrow. The gate was closed when we entered the temple. all the pandits were behind us to take us by another route to get darshan. These are official pandits who resides in temple. They charged us... More

Kalighat Kali temple is one of the prominent temples of the country. It is one of the 52 Shakti Peethas. Your visit to Kolkata is incomplete if you haven't visited the temple. Visitors go to temple to pray for safe journey back to home.

One of the Historical Religious places in Kolkata.Godess Kali is Workshipped here.A must place to visit if you come in Kolkata.It is situated in Kalighat at the heart of Kolkata.So transportation should not be a problem
