Chowringhee is the heart of Kolkata. A long street filled with sites and sounds. Shops, restaurants, historical sites; it's all here. Of course it's crowded but well worth a visit. One can spend hours discovering all that Chowringhee has to offer.

Heart of Kolkata, 4 way crossing connecting all directions, a place for all kind of "Band" and roaming. If lost in Kolkata just from here the journey started, Esplanade Metro Station and Bus Station just beside it. An evening shopping eating roaming starts from here, just come and lost here :)

Chowringhee used to be a great place to just walk about. It was a great place to eat street food at (which it still is). But I just had a walk around Chowringhee and it has become so much dirtier and so messy. It smells disgusting and it is really busy. I would recommend people going to Chowringhee as a... More

Chowringhee is in the centre of the city of Kolkata and is in proximity to the landmarks of the city. The maidans, Raj Bhavan, The Oberoi Grand, Eden Gardens and the New Market are are close by. So are some iconic movie halls like Metro, New Empire and Lighthouse.

This is the heart of Kolkata, where all Kolkattans have to pass through sometime. It is surrounded by Deluxe Hotels, Govt offices, old market places, mosques and all public transport pass thru this place. Its noisy whole day due to lot of public loittering in the area.

Chowrignhee is an old area built by erstwhile Britsh rulers when Kolkata was the capital of India. It has prime commercial buildings housing several multinational companies. It is nice to walk around Chowringhee to get to know the history of the area.
