Located close to Dhakuria Bridge next to the Dakshinapan Shopping Arcade, this auditorium houses bengali plays and cultural shows on a regular basis. This was opened in 1995 and is managed by the Cultural Department of Government of West Bengal. The auditorium has been recently refurbished and acoustics and interiors have been thoroughly upgraded. I am here today to see a play presented by a renowned Bengali Group Theatre. The seats are quiet comfortable and I terror and lighting arrangements are good. The acoustics I find have been thoroughly improved. This auditorium was an official venue of the Kolkata International Film Festival 2017. The place is well maintained and facilities are clean. The added attraction is the proximity to Dakshinapan, where you can hang out. You can also relax sitting at the outside open arena which is a great place to catch up with your group of friends. Great place for all round entertainment and spending a quality evening outing.

It is an auditorium located near the Dhakuria bridge of Kolkata, West Bengal, India. It is named after Bengali poet Michael Madhusudan Dutt. This is controlled and managed by the Information and Cultural Affairs Department, Government of West Bengal. This auditorium is regularly used for theatres. This auditorium is inaugurated on 12 October 1995 by Jyoti Basu, Chief Minister of West Bengal at that time. Very convenient. One of the best Theatre Halls. Clean. Excellent sound system. Many bus routes to reach here. Just at the south end of Dhakuria bridge. It's a place for drama and other cultural functions. The auditorium is good and airconditioned. Sound system is marvellous, even a person sitting at last row does not have any problem to listen. A nice auditorium. Theater shows and other cultural programs are staged regularly. Outside atmosphere is also attractive, worth spending time here.Nice ambiance outside. Nice to perform inside as well as good to watch performance by sitting in the gallery.

The only inconvenience is car parking , though car parking is near by just adjacent to the Dakshinapon shopping complex) but is very small amount of cars can be parked here. So you have to wait in a long queue.
