From darjeeling Mall road , one can go to observatory hill spot by 5 minutes of walk through mall market. Very Few benches have been arranged to sit. If weather is clear , anyone can enjoy scenic beauty of the valley/ mountains specially kanchenjenga, having a sip of coffee/tea and get relaxed for hours.

The road is well paved and has a very steep climb. As we took on the Mall Hotel this was my first point to visit in Darjeeling. Thankfully both of my kids could do it. Offered Puja at Mahakal Mandir at the top. Pleasant experience.

A trail for everyone is the loop trail called Observatory Hill. On one end of the loop is the market, and the entire perimeter of the other end is ruled by views of Kanchenjunga. Do not forget to have a cup of Mimi noodles/soup or just have a cup of tea while walking here!

This is the hillock adjacent to Chowrasta and the famous Darjeeling Mall.. Start with the Mall.. you have three view points, where you can have the best views of Kanchenjangha..the middle one has a few work out stations for the gym goers.. So preferable get into your workout outfit.. You can do a pony ride as well...Now it's time to go to Mahakal temple..you can climb up by the stairs from the mall side or use the car road from the Rajbhawan side...the exercise will make you feel fresher..now get down and sip a lovely cup of Darjeeling Tea at 15/- INR.. and check out the Mahakal Road side stalls (from 8 am onwards)...now time to have a coffee in CCD and check out some books at Oxford...A morning you will cherish for a long time

What a wonderful place to walk to, sacred to both Hindus and Buddhists. The prayer flags, bells and incense make it very memorable. And there are monkeys.

One can walk from Chaurasta to the Observatory hill to enjoy the scenic beauty of Darjeeling. The best thing is that it is free from traffic. One can go up to the Mahakal temple or simply sit on the benches and observe the movement of clouds playing hide and seek with the sun.Its most soothing experience. There is a small market selling woollens, caps umbrellas and gifts etc.One must not miss the place so peaceful and scenic. If you are tied up with the cab tours you may miss this place,Keep a few hours for enjoying nature.
