Zoo is a last place that one would think about during a trip to Darjeeling...but I was very pleasantly surprised. We had a toddler and we went to the zoo for her...but I was very happy we did. It's a very clean and well maintained zoo and the cold weather makes the walking around comfortable. Obviously the exhibits were quite... More

Nothing great about the Zoo. Good for kids. The snow leopard was sleeping. feels bad to see all animals and birds caged. Visited the Bengal natural history Museum. It's OK

I can't recollect when last I have visited a zoo... And may that's another reason why I enjoyed visiting this zoo. Extremely clean and well maintained zoo with fairly good natural environment created for the animals. Its not crowded.. Atleast not at this time of the year.. But hope they are making enough money to sustain the zoo. Its a... More

Zoo at such an altitude is itself a beautiful experience. This is the only place so far where we could have a glance at a red panda.

They have a great collection of Himalayan animals, like Himalayan goat, bear, red panda, snow leopard, yak. You don't get to see these animals any where else. Worth the visit. It's done up differently, with caves, and huge enclosures.

Zoos are there in every major city now. What makes this special is the collection of animals like Himalayan wolf, snow leapord. Red Panda was the biggest crowd puller though.
