The home of diverse avifauna like green magpie, Indian treepie, hill myna etc and also migratory birds including teals. We are fortunate that we see mammals like elephant, gaur/bison, barking deer and wild boar in this region.

I consider Chapramari as one of the popular forests in West Bengal for watching wildlife especially elephant, bison, wild bores, peacock etc. The watch tower is the best place to watch the animals, both in the morning and the afternoon. Forest Department run accommodation is available in the forest, with prior booking. Jeep can reach upto the forest accommodation and... More

I enjoyed my trip to Chapramari Forest with my family. There is a very well maintained Salt Pit where you can very easily find many wild animals of the forest. Bisons, Elephants, Deers and various species of birds.

This place is located very near to the highway. It is lush green and has magnificent sights. Although it is very near to the villages but the locals informed us that there was never any accident caused due to animals. In fact I got a feeling that wildlife here was disturbed due to human presence.

Chapramari wildlife sanctuary is popular for elephant sighting. It is on way to Jhalong or Bindu. Elephant safari is not available but Jeep safari can be done. The forest bungalow inside is a very good place to spend nights with nature but booking is very hard thing to do. One has to be very lucky to get a booking in... More

Being a Nature lover, I wanted to enjoy this location during Monsoons. Again stayed at the Forest Bungalow for 2 nights. This was a completely different experience. The days were reasonably dry, but evenings brought torrential rains, with its sound on the metal roof, a constant roar!! And the play of the fireflies! Millions of them everywhere! Animal sighting at... More

It's situated in North Bengal ( The famous northern region of West Bengal ) . Amidst green is there to settle shelters of cheetahs , elephants , bison , deers etc. Also, you will love to see peacock in rain.

It’s a good green dense forest. It’s not grassland like Jaldapara, hence not an ideal home for Rhinos, Mostly Indian gaur and Elephant can be witnessed here. We took afternoon safari which started from our resort Banani at Murti. The whole journey was for almost 2 hours which includes a Nepali folk dance arranged by the locals inside the jungle.... More

The jungle safari was something we were really looking forward to on our trip, but due to the winter weather maybe, most animals seemed to not come out of their hideouts. Hence we were not able to see much wildlife except a few families of elephant and a bison or two. But peacocks were plentiful , one in full bloom... More
