The statue of Mahatma Gandhi is situated in Marina beach near lighthouse. It is erected on 14th of April 1959.It is placed in memory of Gandhi.It is one of the landmark on Marina beach.

Gandhi Statue is a well built attraction that looks great against the backdrop of evening sky, setting sun and beach side. The traffic on the other side ruins it a bit, but its worth looking at. Maintained well the by the authorities, this statue has also led to this section of the beach being called Gandhi beach. The walk way next to it makes a good jogging track. Keep jogging and you will reach lighthouse which is another attraction.
The open space around the statue allows a lot of breeze to come through and makes the visit pleasant.
Visitors should not miss this spot. Its next best to a similar spot in pondicherry
