I love this temple for its cultural values. They host a variety of traditional carnatic music concerts and bharathnatyam dance during all special occasions. It is a calm and spiritual place amidst the hustle of the city.

The crowd is rather unruly and though there is supposed to be a queue etc. a lot of push pull exists and with the hot climate of chennai one feels rather uncomfortable .

We hit there at precisely the right time - the god was being put to be with the his consort. The horns, drums, praying and an abundance of flames ,made the experience unforgettable for the children with us. The many, many kittens helped also.
