The area
Address
Neighborhood: T. Nagar
The bustling shopping district of Chennai, T. Nagar is a junction of packed streets that attracts locals and tourists alike, especially during the wedding and festive seasons. Home to multi-storeyed stores selling the most colourful and latest designs of saris, gold jewellery and narrow lanes with regular everyday shopping bargains especially on Ranganathan Street and Pondy Bazaar, it is one of the liveliest market places in the city. Just a stroll around the place dotted with street food stalls and eateries offering traditional South Indian meals is good enough to capture the life at T. Nagar and you will surely be tempted to buy something that you might not have planned to. Most of the residential bungalows were built in art-deco style and till today, have been maintained well on G.N.Chetty Road.

Siva Vishnu Temple in Usman Road,a Busy Shopping Area of T Nagar Chennai is one of the old temples.Though it has no history it is frequented by residents of this area for generations,I did my schooling here and vividly remember my mother going every week. The Anjaneya ,Vinayaka and Navagraha sannathis are very famous.Another striking aslect is that this is one of the few Temples where both Saivaites and Vaishnavites come and worship.Well maintaines.

Visited this temple after 40 years. Very peaceful, the murthis of gods and goddesses were very serene faced. There is a new hall with a huge siva linga where you are allowed to do puja yourself.

This temple of Lord Shiva and Vishnu in one complex is located at T Nagar Chennai just 2 minutes walk from T Nagar Bus Station and 5 minutes walk from Mambalam Railway Station. This is a very famous temple at Chennai. There are sannadhis for various other gods belonging to Vaishnavism and Shaivism.
The presiding Deity is Lord Srinivasa and goddess Mahalakshmi Thayar.
Also you can worship Anjaneya Rama and Lakshmi Narasimha.

The poojaris are very much devoted. Recently i.e. last week We did Thirumanjanam (Abishegam) to Srinivasa perumal.. Abishegam was performed both to Perumal and Thayar in a grand manner...in a great way by the temple poojaris...

A visit to this temple is a must when you are in Chennai.
