Myself along with my mom visited Sri Hridayaleeswarar temple on a Sunday evening, it was situated close to Bhaktavatsala perumal temple at Thiruninravur on the outskirts of Chennai. We got down at Thiruninravur railway station, took an auto to reach the temple. Poosalar Nayanar hailed from the town, 'Ninravur', was a devotee of Lord Shiva, built a temple for Lord Shiva in his heart, as he's not rich enough to built a temple of his own. Lord Shiva was inspired by his devotion and appeared in dreams of the king to build a temple at the same place as built in Poosalar's heart. Hence it's named as Hridayaleeswarar. The main deity of the temple was Hrudayaleeswarar & Goddess Maragada ambika. Had a divine evening at the temple.…
