I ordered a rug from Indigo in January based on one that I unexpectedly fell in love with at the store. In all fairness, the rug in question was truly beautiful and clearly well made. As I wanted a different size and textile than the one they had available on site, I made an order for delivery and was told that the finished piece would look exactly the same as the one I had seen in store and further, that I would receive pictures of the progress on it in advance of delivery.

By March, I had received no follow-ups, so I emailed them multiple times to request the promised images before I received a response and then it was still in the very early stages of completion. Given the pandemic, I obviously understood things were not necessarily moving as quickly as they would have otherwise, but given some of the other reviews here, I feel as if my project somehow landed in the slow lane.

The pictures I received did nothing to heighten my anticipation for something I felt would be a custom work of art and a great memory of my time in India. Still I have then the benefit of the doubt, hopeful that their camera was taking VERY washed out images, I'll share the image I took and the one they sent me of the completed rug, side by side. Make your own judgment call.

Back in March, I also emailed them to let them know (again, due to the pandemic) that my address had changed. I was told, no worries, we'll reach out before dispatch. A week shy of the beginning of OCTOBER, I get an email asking me to confirm my address which I send over. Two days later, I get tracking info, and of course, the rug was shipped to my old address.

So, I waited nine months for delivery, drove five hours to pick up the rug from a place I was no longer living, paid more than I care to recall and the output looked exactly like the washed out image I was sent. Extremely disappointing... Don't bother.

Greetings from Indigo's a client is always right and we are in business because art lovers like you still exist on this planet whatever you write is true and we accept with folded hands the carpet you looked at here on your visit and fell in love was a silk on silk highly knotted carpet which you wanted us to copy on to a wool carpet these are works of hand and of course they work with number of knots the more the numbers more clarity of design i mean it's like camera pixels thus we need high resolution camera pixels to get sharper pics similarly the silk thread allows more number of knots which is not possible with wool threads though the color design is the same the difference is the high and normal resolution and ofcourse the price difference of 5 times. I guess these differences are enough to self explain your unhappiness but still clients are always right and we accept your comments with full humility.

Really interesting seeing how the carpets are made. Reassuring to see and feel the quality. We have a rug which we bought in India 30 years ago which we love, still looks fabulous and has such great memories so we wanted another as a memento of this visit. There was a huge selection of styles and sizes of carpets to chose from. We were shown a carpet which was the exact colouring and style we wanted but it was the wrong size. This was the first place where we felt confident to order and pay for a bespoke carpet which could then be delivered to us in Devon. We arrived home mid February excitingly expecting our carpet in May. Then the pandemic hit the world. We thought the upheaval of everything would mean we likely wouldn't get our carpet as greater concerns took priority and businesses everywhere struggled. However we were delighted to get the email from Indigo to say our carpet was ready and even more pleased to receive it a week later. It's even better than we remembered and looks wonderful in place. We couldn't be more pleased and have since ordered another smaller runner to complement it. Our dealings with Indigo have shown them to be a highly professional and trustworthy company. The quality of materials and workmanship are excellent and we now have a work of art. Their priority was for us to get the carpet that we can love and appreciate for many years and they could not do enough to create that for us.
If you want a memory of India that lives with you I highly recommend a visit to Indigo in Jaipur.

We were one of the last tour visitors with Titan and chose a carpet which had to be made .I cannot recommend enough the excellent service and prompt correspondence in a very strange world that we are in currently. The carpet is beautiful and is of exceptional quality .The photo doesn't do it justice as iit changes colour from different directions .

On a recent Saga trip to India, at the start of the Covid Lockdown in March, we were taken to this establishment.
The visit was interesting and the carpets better priced than at a previous establishment we had visited.
We were fed excellent samosas and VERY nice Rum, then the party began to choose carpets to have flown to the UK later, Indigo would then write the buyers details on the back of the carpet.
Being awkward, I wanted a particular colour and design, but in a size that was not available.
No problem they said, we will have one made for you.
We were pulled out of India early to get one of the last flights out and I thought I would never see my carpet, because India went into total lockdown.
In May I sent a tentative e-mail to Indigo and got a lovely friendly reply immediately, saying they would look into it and see if their 'Artisans' were back at work.
A fortnight later it was made and being washed and shaved (a lengthy process).
On the 1st of Sept my carpet arrived; just as I ordered - colour, design, size and quality.
I am delighted both with my carpet and the exceptional service in difficult times by Indigo Carpets & Textiles of Jaipur.

A great experience and beautiful product. Best bit: they delivered to me in England against the very difficult backdrop of Covid-19

We were taken there as part of our private tour with no intention of buying a carpet.
Guess what we bought one (albeit quite small) and although we thought we were told they had one in their warehouse in our required size and it would be delivered CIF in 4 weeks it took some 5 months partly as it had to be made and partly o/a Covid19.
Anyway they came good and we now have the carpet on our floor and VERY happy with it.
Can recommend them as a place to do business with.
Their reputation is most important to them.

We visited with our group and found it fascinating learning about the different handicrafts. We bought a beautiful carpet and were concerned about receiving the shipment as by the time we had returned to Canada the corona virus had turned into a worldwide pandemic. Our carpet arrived a few month later and through constant updates there was no doubt that it would be delivered as promised. Sameer and the staff were courteous and professional and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend purchases from this reputable buisness.

As with the other reviews we visited on a group tour however this was a textile lovers (ME!) sweetie shop, please if you love textiles and home decoration this is well worth a visit. You will need to bargain but be respectful of the craftmanship you are paying for. Pity we can't buy online!! Thank you for tour and hospitality. Our thoughts are with you at this turbulent time.

Thank you for your visit to your very own Artisans workshop and your kind words impeccably thoughtful it's Art lovers as you who inspire us to be more creative and to bring out the best of our textiles heritage to the world's doorstep,we do not sell online as these are one of a kind no climate controlled natural dye products and they come out differently each time you get it dyed depending upon the humidity and score of sunshine that particular day and that is how the respectability for the product is induced you can however write to us of your requirements and we can share pictures on email to respond.Stay home Stay safe.

The visit begins with a demonstration of fabric block printing and how the hand-knotted carpets are made. Carpets are available to purchase in a variety of sizes, designs, colours and wools. Shipping is at no extra charge and only VAT is payable on delivery. Pashminas, scarves, tailored garments and textiles are also available to purchase. The staff were welcoming and helpful and are delighted with our purchases. Photography in the factory is encouraged but beware, due to the lighting, photographs have a green tinge.

Thank you for your kind words and depiction of our factory and display area, idea is to give the guests a feel of the 8-9 centuries old art accessible which in normal course would not be possible for them to see also it gives a boost to the Artisans as their Art depiction is applauded world over Thanks Again

Buying something overseas to be shipped always seems like a gamble but we took the chance and am very happy we did. Bought two small rugs at what we felt was a good price (with some haggling) and they arrived in New York via FedEx two days after being shipped from Jaipur, and a week after we purchased! Note there is NO import duty on handmade items imported to the USA, so unlike those in the UK we had no extra charges. We didn't feel the carpet guys were especially pushy; however we also bought a few things in the textile shop, and they were a bit more aggressive there. But a firm no, with a smile, will do. Got a lovely silk scarf, silk pajamas, and my husband had a linen shirt made overnight. Finally, they are honest...I dropped my credit card in the ladies room and they called my guide to let him know they had it.
