We were relaxing and wondered what to do for the evening before dinner and came across some info about the Statue Circle. So from our hotel which was about 20 minutes away we took the local version of ride sharing Ola and paid only INR140 to get there. Once there we saw many locals lazing on the ground both at the area of the Circle and by the sides too. The area available with well manicured grass was substantial. On seeing people drinking coffee we explored and saw a few roadside stalls. Of the 4 there we opted for the one named Uncle Coffee and bought a few cups of coffee and thereof walked to the area around the Circle to also laze on the ground while enjoying the coffee. It was magnificient! We even had a second helping by purchasing from a 2nd stall called 182. After the nice relaxing experience and lively coffee we headed back to the hotel for dinner on yes another Ola trip.

This is a circle built in honour of founder of Jaipur City, Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. The area is near important government offices (Income Tax, Excise, Secretariat, High Court, etc.) and Central Park. Though a lot of traffic passes around the circle but it still attracts a lot persons who wish to spend sometime out doors. There are many snacks (Indian chaat, kulfi, ice cream) vendors around so it is a good sight for locals to spend some time outdoors. Incidentally this is also the most favourite site for squatters (Dharna) who wish to protest against government policies. If you are interested in history of Jaipur and wish to pay tribute to Maharaja Sawai Jaisingh then you can stop here for a few minutes to snap some photographs. There is a planetarium close by so perhaps you can go there too if it happens to be on your itinerary.

it is huge area in circle shape and has a statue of Man singh in the centre. for us it was more of a picnic spot as we carried games for our kids to play there and junk food is available nearby for you to enjoy the evening. there is a fountain in between but was not working.

Have passed by this roundabout so many times but it never fails to evoke a feeling of wonderment! The environment is peaceful and the quality of roads / surrounding infrastructure is superb.

Statue circle is a roundabout with a nice large statue of Sawai Man Singh - old ruler of Jaipur I think. Even though it is just a road junction, it is quite magnificent and is surrounded by nice roads with gardens on all sides. Quite good for pictures.
