Saw this way back in December when I visited the Amber fort. It's one of the many magnificent gates in the courtyard and named after the Hindu god Ganesh and is the entry into what was originally the private palaces of the Maharajas of Amer.

From the endless variety of paintings and stone inlays eyes run! Very nice and picturesque. Ganesh Pol Gate is located in front of the pillared courtroom. The entrance (Ganesh Pol) leads to three palaces around a garden, the architecture of the gateway is a fusion of Mughal and Rajput architectural styles, which adjoins the villas and private reception areas. This area is decorated almost in baroque style by the amount of white marble, mosaics and small mirrors. The top of the gates have been decorated with lattice pattern as seen outside from the back side, which is also beautiful. It is a place that conveys much peace and one should be treated with the respect it deserves. Worth visit it.

Located inside Amber Fort, a must stop to admire the beautiful craftsmanship of the mix of the Rajput and Mughal styles of architecture, full of ornate designs in the form of murals and intricate lattice work. The center of the gate has a picture of the Indian god, Ganesha, while the rest of the murals are mostly decorative floral vines. The incredible and varied lattice work on the upper widows and arches are also amazingly intricate. Take as many pictures as you want, its one of the most conserved features of this fort. Entrance fee is included in your ticket, 500INR if foreigner and 100INR during night time, which is also worth for more shots too! Don't miss it!

Ganeh Pol was the main gate to the amber fort where all the royal guests and visitors were welcomed. Its a large structure built with great craftsmanship. Delicate and intricate carvings and detailing. Above the gate r marble screens behind which the women of the royal family would sit and enjoy all the festivities happening in the courtyard without getting seen by the commoners. Good spot for taking pictures. One can go upstairs and peep out of the little window while someone else would capture that image from downstairs :)

most certainly worth a visit.

You definitely need two visits for this magnificent fort. One by day and one for the light and sound show (Hindi/English - check timings locally). If you plan your visit meticulously then afternoon and late evening can be combined.

I can be you, the moment you'll have a fist glance at Ganesh Pol, you will say wow!!!! Visit the fort to enjoy Jaipur more.

Needless to say, local guide is must, or else you should read wikipedia first before the visit.

The Amer Fort is astonishing both in its scale and its beauty and is a must see if in the area of Jaipur.
The Ganesh Gate is one of the most iconic of the many sights inside, a beautiful gateway opening onto a lovely courtyard. Not to be missed.

Located inside the Amber Fort, this is entrance to the third courtyard. It is decorated with beautiful frescos and is one of the places people pause to have their photographs taken, in the alcoves either-side of the main doorway, so be ready to get in the queue.
