- Princes of travelParis, France7,543 contributionsUnforgettable cinemaWe went to this cinema for two main reasons: firstly, it is one of the top 10 cinemas in the world and it is an Art Deco masterpiece. Secondly, we absolutely wanted to live this immersive experience in the heart of Indian life in Jaipur. We saw the film Crew, entirely in Hindi, obviously, but too bad if you don't understand any of the dialogue; the acting of the actors and actresses is so good and fresh that we understood everything about the story. The atmosphere in the room alone is worth the detour as Indians react to the film, the actors, etc. The price of a ticket starts at INR 170 and goes up to INR 400, which is nothing at all for a cinema of this scale and fantastic sound. The cinema is just as worth a look for its interior decoration, that of the entrance hall or the decoration of the small waiting rooms. Drinks and other snacks are not expensive and Indians are happy to see that tourists are interested in their cinema and their culture. They did not hesitate to come and tell us a little about the actors and actresses in photos in the windows. If there's one experience that you shouldn't miss in Jaipur, it's this one!Visited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 28, 2024
- Bozeman-DublinTrim, Ireland11,386 contributionsBeautiful CinemaWe went to the Raj Mandir to experience a Bollywood movie. It turned out to beca magnificent cinema with the most opulent foyer yiu evercwill see. It looked like a LasxaVegas Casino foyer! So many mirrors, a high ceiling, pristine decor. We saw a film called 'Crew' which was enjoyably terrible. We had a great time, just great fun. Couldn't have been happier. The auditorium was magnificent, the sound quality spectacular. The Raj Mandir is reputedly in India top three cinemas. We could see why.Visited April 2024Traveled with friendsWritten May 7, 2024
- KAK852Hong Kong, China21 contributions3-hours of fun!Classic beautiful theater. We watched a 3-hour movie. I understood less than 20-words and it was AWESOME! You can buy tickets online or at the front windows. Doors open 30-minutes in advance. Don’t arrive too early or you’ll end up standing in the parking lot. We paid for the premium seats which aren’t necessary but gave access to less crowded bathrooms.Visited October 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten October 1, 2024
- Sara S10 contributionsJaipur must doAbsolute must for a tourist visiting Jaipur. Beautiful old style cin ma that seats up to 1300 and was sold out. The movies are in Hindi and without subtitles but it doesn't matter. The crowd cheer, hoot and holler and is all round good funVisited November 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten November 4, 2024
- TartahoySydney, Australia97 contributionsFun at the FlicksCaught Pushpa 2 didn’t really have a clue what was going on (did read the plot before we got tix) If you like the cinema, this is lots of fun. To see the locals enjoying a show and hoot and hollering adds to the atmosphere. The film was great fun. The samosas are well worth trying. The beautiful art deco cinema and hall is gorgeous. The toilet!! Not so much!! That’s my only criticism Great restaurant close by called The Silke RouteVisited January 2025Traveled as a coupleWritten January 4, 2025

Magnificent cinema, from the outside and the inside, there are four price categories, I recommend the two cheaper categories, because the higher prices are higher up and therefore separate from the room where everyone is. The public is participatory, which makes the experience very nice because with us it is total silence ;-). you can buy your tickets online, in advance on site (which avoids the girl) or just before the session.

On our intrepid tour we went to a Bollywood Movie. It was an interesting experience. The main actor was very popular with the audience. I went in the evening and it was still very popular.
Hint: suitable clothing and footwear. Allow time to watch the first act. Our Intrepid guide made sure we arrived early and we’re lucky enough to get good seats

Grand is an understatement for this place!
This theatre is located at the heart of city Jaipur.
Everything was amazing, from seats to the interior to the movie ( we watched DDLJ ) .
The perfect movie in the perfect theatre.
Raj Cinemas prove why it's considered one of the best and the fact that it has continued its legacy is commendable. Kudos! ❤

Overall Good Experience.
Raj mandir cinema is one of the famous cinema halls in india. It is a single screen theatre .i watched veere di wedding there with my friends we really enjoyed the movie and the ambience of raj garh. The royal feeling was very good though. And you will also be amazed to know that it is also a tourist destination. The paintings on walls are very attractive it is build very beautifully. The interior of the building is mind blowing the theater itself is very huge. This cinema has a different feel to it altogether.

Brilliant afternoon seeing Dabangg 3. Couldnt understand a word of it because it was in Hindi, but it was awesome.
Got seats in premium class for 370 rupees each. I think we missed a bit of the atmosphere up there and should have got seats lower down.
The cinema itself is beautifully decorated and the chairs were very comfortable.
A real delight to sit in an audience that cheers, whoops, whistles, oohs and ahhs throughout the movie. We heartily joined in! I wish our audiences did that back home - far better than sitting in silence...

Went to this magnificent theatre last night. Its a fabulous experience. Both the foyer and the theatre itsself are beautiful. Unlike some stupid people on here, I knew it was not going to be subtitled so I googled the plot before hand and had a rough idea to the story. It got me through the movie quite easily. A word of warning. I tried to book the ticket online but it wouldn't work. I went down an purchased the ticket myself with cash. When I got back to the hotel my credit card had been clone and used. Thankfulky my cc company spotted this. Please go and see a film here, google the plot but don't use your credit card on their website. Enjoy!!!!

Nice movie theater that looks ordinary from outside but resembles a palace from the inside. During the intervals the lighting effect of the auditorium is nice. The screen is covered by a curtain which is raised during the movie screening and the curtains come down during the interval, gives a feel of the stage theatre effect. I watched Dabangg 3 here with my Mom and child. Everyone planning to visit Jaipur must have this place in their itinerary.

Whilst visiting Jaipur our tour leader organized a night at the movies at Jaipur,s 100 year old movie theatre, wow what an assault on your sensors it was truly one of the most enjoyable nights we had in India. We went to one of the latest released action hero movies. To understand India's love of movies one must go to an action / musical movies. The theatre itself is so deceiving from the outside, once inside you are transformed into what could interpreted as Hollywood glamour bling! Being one of the 12 only westerners and all being female we were quite a novelty for the local Indian audience. To be in this most beautful picture theatre and to have your sensors put on overload is extremely uplifting and amazingly enjoyable. The Indian auspdience claps and cheers their hero and anticipate to the last moment when a Bollywood dance scene not only erupts on the screen but in the audience. Truly a most enjoyable night at the movies!

Is there a place to keep your luggage in Raj Mandir?
Written February 12, 2017
yes , outside the cinema you can deposit your luggage and take token ...after movie can collect your luggage by showing the token.
Written February 12, 2017
People generally visit rajmandir for its historical and architectural value not to watch movies. Therefore, screen size doesn't matter, what matters is the decoration and arrangement of royal and antique things.
