When we were visiting this world heritage site, there was no sun. So the huge sundial did not show the time. Nevertheless it was really impressive to see how much was known about the heavenly bodies and the universe in the first half of the 18th century. It is astounding to see what kind of calculations they could carry out and how exactly this could be done.
