About
Situated in the heart of the pink city, Jaipur is the Gemstone Ganesha Museum. Instilled in a beautiful 250-year-old heritage villa, also known as a "Haveli", This museum is one of it's kind in the city! The Haveli itself is a marvelous piece of art. It was built during the reign of local kings and bears similar aesthetics as the city palace. Most of the fresco work and architecture of yester remain as is. The restoration of the building is an ongoing process, hence gives you a first-hand look at the raw architecture and the glorious techniques of Jaipur's world-famous Architecture. With rooms and corners of the Haveli intact, we offer you a glimpse of life in Jaipur 200 years ago. Come experience the simple, yet Royal lifestyle of a lay man in Jaipur form 200 years ago.

While touring the main pink city, this museum popped up on Google Maps. It immediately caught my attention. The same evening I crossed the museum building from outside on my way to Nahargarh Fort, the heritage building looked magnificent with all the lights lit up. Standing tall and gorgeous, the white color of the building really made it stand out.
Next day I decided to pay a visit to the museum which captured my attention so deeply. I was taken aback in surprise! I was expecting only a museum, but it was so much more! From outside they have few shops at the entrance and it doesn’t look like there will be much, but boy you’ll be surprised! The Heritage building which locals refer as “Haveli” was so captivating! Bearing similar aesthetics as the City Palace of Jaipur, it has been marvelously restored. The owner of the building has paid attention to each tiny corner. While touring the building I saw painters restoring age-old frescos and saw workers restoring old architecture with minute details. A sight which is so rare these days!
The museum and its life-size Ganesha pieces are definitely worth a visit! If you’re in Jaipur or plan a visit, you must visit the Museum! I took the whole building tour, but if you don’t have the time to visit the whole building (which I highly recommend), you must visit the museum at least!
I learned so much during my tour of the museum and the building! From the origin of various gemstones to how they are carved to the amazing architecture and art of Jaipur city!
They also have a gemstone manufacturing unit on sight, where I saw the process first hand and my mind was blown!
The in house artist, he makes such magnificent paintings of Ganesha and all other gods. At first, they look they were printed, they look that perfect! Upon closer look, you can see the amazing strokes of the artist.
A small in house jewelry repair and manufacturing unit showed how they convert the manufactured stone into jewelry! It really is as mesmerizing as it sounds!
The whole building is a package! I would definitely recommend you take some time out and visit the building. After the whole grand tour of the building, you definitely need a spot to respire. And they have that too! A small home like café set up facing the busy street of Jaipur. You can sit back and enjoy their range of herbal teas (served hot and cold) while gazing at the Aravalli’s, the Nahargarh fort and the town in general. Which reminds me of the rooftop view!
The rooftop view is unparalleled to anything in the four-walled city of Jaipur! A 360-degree bird's eye view of the whole city! I could spot all most all the tourist attractions from there! It was so cool! Especially during sunset! If you manage to get there just in time, you’ll definitely catch one of the best sunsets in the city from their rooftop. And if you stay a little longer, you’ll see the city come to light at night. From the forts to the streets, everything lights up and how!
My visit and time at the city were one of my best decisions in Jaipur. I couldn’t be gladder for having done that tour.
I would absolutely recommend a visit!

Trip to the museum was great, it was a delight to see so many Ganeshas made out of gemstone. Carved, and sculpted from stone. I really like the Rose Quartz Ganesha! Would like to buy one soon!!

Beautiful place in the heart of Jaipur city. When I first came here for an interview I didn't expect such a magnificent Haveli in the back.
The museum is grand and impeccably maintained.
Walking us back into history of Rajasthan's art, architecture and craftsmanship.
With in house artist for gemstone cutting, jewelry making and canvas oil painting, this Haveli is filled with jewels in every corner.
The unmatched rooftop view is magnificent.
Weather you're a local looking to explore a new place or a tourist looking for some rich Jaipur heritage, your visit to Gemstone Ganesh museum is a must!

We wandered into this tiny place almost by accident - it has a very unassuming front - and were not really expecting a lot for the twenty rupees donation. We were therefore surprised and delighted by the number of beautifully carved and decorated statues inside. The owner came to speak to us (we were actually a high school group not a family but there isn’t an option for that on Tripadvisor) and we got a full tour. I kept expecting it to be a scam but although there was a clothing store and jewellery shop on the premises, there was no attempt at any form of sales pitch. Well worth a look if you’re passing.
