About
Dye It Yourself (DIY) which is a state of the art, one of a kind workshop where participants can learn the art of dyeing with natural colors. DiY aims is to educate and create awareness among participants about use of natural dyes and its positive impact on environment. During this activity we try and use waste from our kitchen & surrounding which can be helpful for natural dyeing. The idea for the workshop came from the fact that chemical dyes are one of the major sources of pollutants today in textile. Our aim is for people to include sustainability as a filter before any purchase of textiles.

I thoroughly enjoyed learning about natural dyes, and also some shibori tie-dye techniques! The whole staff was very helpful and fun...there was a lot laughter going on as we each worked on our "masterpieces". If textiles is your passion, this is a must do. Or, if you're just looking for something a little different to do while you're on vacation, let your creative side bloom with a class at DIY. I went home with scarf, a shirt, and a dress that I can proudly say, "I dyed them myself"!

This is a great venue to try your hand at the old craft of dyeing material and making your own scarf or clothing. We did the small group tour and loved it. It commences with a tutorial on how the dyes are made from various plants and vegetables this being followed by a practical experience of taking a white piece of fabric and designing tie sites before immersing in various large pots of different colored dye solutions, then draining and washing out excess dye before fixing and drying – we all came away with great souvenir scarves and garments. The crew taking the class were excellent and helpful as well as serving light refreshments. I went along, together with another male friend, as our wives were keen to do the class and I must admit we loved it and learnt new skills. Cannot recommend the Dye It Yourself experience highly enough.

Highly recommended! I took the full day workshop with Sid a few weeks ago. Sid is super passionate about natural dyes and was fun to spend time with.

Sid began the workshop with a presentation about natural dyes and the natural dyeing process. I had tons of questions and he answered them all. He speaks perfect English and is super knowledgeable.

After the presentation I got to choose which dyes I wanted to work with. I made a really cool scarf and some other items.

I don’t remember all the other names of the people who ran the workshop, but they were all super nice and patient.

It was a fun and educational experience -- exactly what I was hoping for! I highly recommend it for anyone interested in natural dying.

Also, I wanted to mention that I took a few days of block printing in Bagru and found the DIY workshop to be a nice compliment to those in Bagru because of the hands on experience with preparing and dyeing your fabric.

We visited DIY for the 2nd time in Jan 2018 and had yet again another fantastic workshop! The workshop location was perfect and had everything you could have wanted! Sidhant and his team are so friendly and helpful, the workshop is always full of lots of laughter! We learnt so much about natural dying, and different processes, and tried lots of different shibori techniques! Lunch was also great!!! We will be back again in 2019 for another workshop, and would like to do more than just one day as we always have so much fun! Thank you!

We all wear clothes dyed with synthetic dyes but do we really know what impact it has on the world and to an extent on our health, after all Textile Industry is the second most polluting industry in the world. And do you believe that you could dye your clothes all by yourself, starting from making Natural dyes to dyeing your clothes using your awesome creativity. In case of mine I didn't.
I got a referral of DIY from a close friend who had already been to this workshop. And since I love to explore stuff, I registered. That day is surely one of the most memorable day in my life.
First of all, I learn how we can make dyes using the organic stuff from our surrounding like onion peels, various leaves, fruits, etc.
Then, the knowledge of fabric we can use to dye and the technique of dyeing and to my surprise the technique was quite easy and intriguing.
And finally practicing the art together with a lot of strangers coming from different backgrounds and countries. Quite fun it was to have them around.
I made an awesome pattern on my T-Shirt that I can still flaunt in my circle.
The atmosphere of creativity was awesome, it can bring the creativity inside of you.
Farooq Bhai was amazing personality over there, the way he teaches and explains is great, an extremely talented and creative person in this workshop, he is actually one of the main USPs of this workshop.
Sidhant is the guy who is most passionate about DIY, he really wants to spread this
art with message all across the world, I really appreciate that and would help him in any manner I can.
Sankalp and Shubham were great to have as instructors and they are really good and fun to have around you in the workshop as they are quite passionate at what they do.
DIY Workshop deserves to be visited atleast once, however i'm going to attend a second workshop this March.
Even I loved writing a review on DIY, a nostalgia for me.

I did not really know what to expect from this day, and was very pleasantly surprised.
It was thoroughly enjoyable, fun, and so informative. Sid is very energetic and appears passionate about what the firm are trying to achieve. The videos we were shown were very good, helpful and clear. The young man who did Shibori with us was very good and patient, and I came away wanting to learn more.
Altogether a good day and I can completely recommend it.
