From beginning to the end it was amazing. We were really focused on the process and the master was really patient with us. After making one blockprint scarf yourself you really respect the blockprint textiles you find in the markets. After the explorer class, I wish I had more days in Jaipur to take the other clases also!

My wife works in fashion and is crazy about textiles, so we wanted to try this traditional Rajasthani method of printing on fabric.
Mohit who runs the place is a genuinely great guy, in three hours we learned a lot about his craft - both in theory and hands-on experience.

The three-hour workshop goes like this : Mohit explains a few general facts around block printing, the textile industry in Rajasthan, and their work at Creatis, then you pick a pattern in a catalog, as well as 3 or 4 ink colours to dye it with.

Then it's your time to shine! Block printing is fun but precise work, definitely not something I'm good at, although the wife seemed to have a natural talent for it (which almost resulted in a job offer!). You have to karate chop the blocks for the ink to mark so if textile design isn't your thing, at least you get to punch stuff.

You're guided through the whole process by Mohit and his team who are super friendly and helpful, so even beginners will have a good time here.

You end up with this beautiful, 1sqm piece of cotton fabric that you can shape into whatever you like, a scarf or a shirt, or just keep it that way and hang it in your living room and brag about it.

Overall we had a great time! Thanks guys!

What more can I say. An enjoyable 4 hours of block printing . This was truly a humbling experience. We were greeted by Mohit . A true gentleman and 10 amazing block printers. The experience at times was challenging. But with patience and some help a truly magical piece was made. If ever in Jaipur and are looking for something interesting and off the beaten track . I truly recommend this. Thanks to Mohit and the boys. Namaste

Such a wonderful experience learning the different methods and techniques of screen printing, block printing, and embroidery! Each is unique in its own way and takes great skill and precision. I left with a new appreciation and love for this art. I look forward to visiting again!

I took the embroidery and block painting master classes with them and I'm so glad I did it. They are super professional with a really well structured classes where you can learn everything you want.
They also give you the entire materials you need for working on the different things.
If you feel like learning embroidery, block painting, etc don't hesitate about taking classes with them, this was one of the best things I did in India

My partner and I did the block printing workshop and were so glad we did!

Arranging the experience was great from start to finish and both the owner and printers were fantastic.

We really enjoyed our time and left with fantastic printed material and another last surprise- all I can say is, try to do your best with the test material, it doesn't go to waste! :)

The owner was also really lovely to talk to.

Absolute bargain and lovely new skill.

We had a full day at Creatis learning some basics in some of the Jaipuri crafts. My partner did the hand embroidery class and I did the wood block printing class. One of the textiles that I printed was turned into a totebag later on to take home. It was a very fun and educational day for a very affordable price. Everyone is friendly and Mohit is a great guy who is always there to tell you everything you want to know.

I highly recommend!

It was just a few hours spending time doing block painting but it was really fun. I and my friends enjoyed it very much. All the staffs are friendly, willing to help and make sure your painting is just right and fine. Once you are done with the session, you will have your own block painting of one-square-meter as a souvenir from Jaipur. I would like to recommend this to everyone, especially who want to learn from locals.

Ive been fascinated by block printing for some time, so was pleased to see this workshop was available. All was well organised, the workshop took place in a block printing workshop where local guys were busily working on long tables of fabric. Mohit guided me through the process, and helped translate questions to the friendly workers. You will get to work on a piece of fabric about a metre square, and choose designs and colors. Well worth doing, and I will treasure my little piece of artwork!!
