I was amazed by the massive size of the market and the wide range of spice offerings. Many will also blend and make the spice recipe one desires. I bought some nuts and seeds to snack on. To add flavour to my home cooking, I bought turmeric, red chilies, red chili powder, coriander, and cumin.

I've been here several times now and the range and quality of the spices is always amazing. You can buy a kilo of really good quality fried Kashmiri Chillies for 320 rupees. I always get local masala mixes - there is a chilli and coconut one for 500 rupees a kilo. It's amazing and as you only need a couple of spoonfuls per curry it will last you a while. All of the stalls will seal the spices in a bag so they wont leak in your luggage. If you can take a carrier bag with you as many stalls wont give you a bag other than the one your spices are in.

Came here by chance and the mainman there was super pleasant, very helpful, his prices were fixed and very reasonable. I wish i had had more time here but i was on a tight schedule. We joked a little bit, and we talked prices at 100 grams and then i chose my quantity.

Next im in India i will be visiting here for sure....with an empty suitcase!
