Went to this amazingly colourful place which is just 10 mins walk from Dadar Railway Station in Mumbai. Though flowers are why this place is so popular, we went there to fulfill one of our photographic goals- to do flower photography in one of the largest flower markets in the country.

You can find flowers of a variety of shapes and colours all over the market. The best time to reach there is early morning at around 6-7 AM when the market takes the form of a colourful canvas. Add to that the magnificent smell of the flowers. Magical!

From flower-buying point of view, you can find all varieties of flowers, even in bulk at a very cheap rate, if you have excellent bargaining skills!

From cleanliness point of view, this market is bit congested and not super clean.

Tips: Talk to the vendors, they are super friendly. They will allow you to take pictures of flowers. Just be careful about one thing. Don’t take their photos without their permission.

If you love photography and are staying in Mumbai, don’t ever forget to include this awesome market in your bucket list!

This is the best wholesale floral market in Mumbai located near the vegetable market. Crowds arrive at 5am to purchase for shops and homes. It is best to come with a guide due to location and crowds. Fabulous photo opportunities. Individual travelers can purchase also. A sight most tourists miss. My Guide & Driver were with Amaze Tours, exceeded expectations with language & professionalism.

Went to this market early in the morning and found it was crowded even in the morning. The market was quite dirty due to the rains. However the flower market was very nice with different varieties of flowers. The clothes were available at very cheap rates.

It was an experience to witness the wholesale of many vegetable and fruits as well as fish. Boxes and boxes, hands filled with plenty of bustle not to mention the pushing and pulling. The scent filled the air wonderfully.

On the Dadar Market is everything Indian for sale at very decent prices. It is not a very touristic spot. But that makes it for the real interested even more attractive. Very nice and helpful people all over the place. One should realize that it is very crowdy and for tourists it might be difficult to find a cab or ricksha to leave the place after good shopping.

This is primarily a wholesale market where suppliers of flowers, vegetables and fish all bring their goods to be sold to wholesale buyers who then transport them all over Mumbai and surrounding communities for resale. Since the goods need to be transported, they set up the market early (around 5-6 AM) and it is all over by about 10 AM when the streets are cleared (other than permanent sellers).

It's a awesome place to buy fruits , vegetables & flowers, only those who are street smart can manage here . It's a very crowded place as people can buy whole sale & retail.
All fresh produce/ flowers sold here & at a very rapid rate, eg flowers majority are gone by 7 am .
There are lots of good places to eat & drink authentic Maharashtrian food eg kothimbir wadi , sabudana wada , thali peet, misal in walking distance.
I recommend Sri Krishna bata wada stall more towards the fly over bridge. They are famous for batata wada.
There is a nice Hanuman temple
Famous pigeon feeding place called kabutar khana, interesting to watch.
There are also good saree shops. I usually go to Paneri .
Easy access by train, bus and taxis.
