- 023worldtravellerMumbai, India55 contributionsShree Siddhivinayak Temple - a must visit to seek blessings of Lord GaneshCentrally located. quite close to Dadar station, Shree Siddhivinayak Temple is a must visit on your trip to Mumbai. It's well connected by local BEST buses too that ply from different parts of the city. Whether you come here to ask for some special favour or as a thanksgiving, the darshan of Lord Ganesha will make you feel truly blessed and at peace. If travelling on a short city trip, avoid Tuesday as its very crowded with the queues spilling on to the end of the lane. Prasad Ladoo's made of Boondi as well as coconut are available at a fixed nominal cost in the temple premise itself. Within the temple area, there is also a separate queue which offers a shorter queue and quicker darshan at an additional fee of Rs.100. It's completely optional. There are no charges for the normal queue. Overall, it's one of those places that's sure to make you feel happy to have visited it.Visited February 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten March 15, 2024

The architecture is stunning, and the atmosphere is filled with devotion and peace. Our guide provided insightful information about the temple's history and significance, enhancing our understanding of its cultural importance. The rituals and prayers we witnessed were profoundly moving. Despite the crowd, the organization and management were impressive, making the visit smooth and memorable. Thank you, Mumbai Tour Vision, for arranging this visit. It was a deeply spiritual experience that we will cherish forever.Visited May 2024Traveled with familyWritten June 25, 2024

Luckily, the crowd waited patiently and so the experience was quite nice. We went for the distant darshan as this was the first queue that we encountered. We had a pleasant darshan of Bappa from a distance. We were blessed to have such a blissful darshan of Bappa on the day of Ganesh Chaturthi.Visited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten September 22, 2024
- Travel GyaaniMumbai, India131 contributionsDivine Experience at Siddhivinayak Temple: A Blend of Faith and Culture in MumbaiVisiting Siddhivinayak Temple in Prabhadevi is a deeply moving experience. The temple's grandeur, combined with the serene energy that fills the space, makes it one of Mumbai's most cherished spiritual landmarks. As you step in, the intricate architecture and the beautifully adorned idol of Lord Ganesha captivate you. The sense of peace amidst the chants and the fragrance of incense is surreal. The temple staff and volunteers are generally polite and guide devotees efficiently, ensuring that the experience is smooth, even during peak hours. One of the best things about the temple is its accessibility and the well-organized darshan process. Though the temple can be quite crowded, especially on Tuesdays, the management does its best to streamline the flow of devotees, making it possible for everyone to have a fulfilling darshan. The small shops outside add to the overall experience, offering a variety of items like flowers and sweets to enhance the prayer experience. Suggested Improvements: While the experience is mostly positive, a few adjustments could make it even better: 1. Crowd Management on Peak Days: Though the staff tries to manage the crowd, implementing a more advanced crowd-control system during high-traffic hours would make the visit more comfortable. 2. Improved Waiting Area: Providing more shaded areas or fans for devotees waiting in long queues, especially in summer, would make the wait less tiring. 3. Enhanced Parking Facilities: Parking near the temple can be challenging. A dedicated parking space or tie-ups with nearby parking facilities would ease this issue. 4. Restroom Maintenance: Improved maintenance and cleanliness of public restrooms around the temple premises would greatly enhance the comfort of devotees, especially for families and older visitors. Overall, Siddhivinayak Temple is a divine experience, and a few tweaks would elevate it to an even higher standard.Visited November 2024Traveled soloWritten November 13, 2024

We went to the temple in Christmas holidays of 2024 and found it jam-packed with devotees. Long queues of more than two hours were there. Heard about the temple being very popular and so visited with my friends from work. Taxis are crazy and won't pick you up from nearby areas. Share taxis are the ones you need to take. Sign boards inside the temple could be better. Close-up darshan is at the back side of the temple but Doordarshan is at the entrance so people (first timers) get confused. Flower stalls are a loot. Overall the display of idols is vast/wide and the view to the devotees is good. Rush is a huge thing though. Photography is not allowed so no pics. The veg restaurant outside the temple is good for food. Chappal stand is free but will be available only another devotee returns their chappals. Have to wait in line. Prasad counters are spread across and so are teeth prasad counters. Free laddu prasad is set up outside the main temple and people coming out of the temple or people already outside can stand in line to collect, which is tedious. Laddu prasad can be directly provided inside the temple premise so that people need not stand in line. There should be a barricade in the center of the path so that it is convenient for people walking in both directions.

This Ganesha temple is a must-visit if you are in Mumbai. There are a bunch of shopkeepers inside who will try to make money by selling flowers and sweets at a higher price but you can buy them from outside at a better price. If you have a laptop or electronic items, they have a locker outside where you can deposit it for Rs 50. Also, after the puja, if you want to try traditional Maharashtrian snacks/foods, there are several shops there. I tried in a shop called Modakam and the taste was amazing.

The Shri Siddhivinayak Ganapati Mandir is a Hindu temple dedicated to Ganesha in the form of Siddhi Vinayak or the Ganesha who grants your wish.
The exterior of the temple has a unique light pinkish hue reminiscent of the architecture of Jaipur or even the sand of Rajasthan. The facade of the building has the appearance of multiangular and multi storey towers, topped with a golden urn finial. The towers also give the appearance of being joined together to form a contiguous wall. Again in a style similar to Rajasthani architecture. Inside, the mezzanine floor appears to be used for puja and also contains the Sanctum Sanctorum, while the other floors didn’t appear to be for general access. The image of Lord Shree Siddhivinayak is housed in the sanctum. The priests are quite welcoming, even though I obviously wasn’t a Hindu. Thanks to this visit, I’ll keep a mental note to see if other Siddhi Vinayak are also red.

We wanted to visit this temple as we heard so much about it.
Our driver dropped us off outside and warned us not to buy anything from outside. As we walked out people came to crowd us to buy flowers and leave your shoes it was not a nice experience.
We walked in and same thing all the flower vendors come to you to go to their stall to buy. We went to the queue which was very long (we went on a sat) and it was too hot to stand outside. So we decided to do Darshan from far, it was absolutely manic in front people in crowds pushing and shoving to see Lord Ganesh for a second and be pushed forward.
You could go through the fast track but again it’s all to do with money and I don’t agree that going to a temple you have to pay at every point you go to.
This was not our idea of a peaceful time at a temple and I wouldn’t recommend it we were out within 15 minutes. There are many beautiful temples in India to visit without this hassle.

I came in part to enjoy viewing the exterior of this iconic Hindu temple. Unfortunately, 90% of the exterior is covered with large tarps. Then, I waited in the men’s line for 70 minutes before being able to enter this divine place of worship. I was told that long lineups exist the majority of the time. Best to arrive early in the morning.

Our long wait had ultimately been over, when we as a family visited the Shree Siddhivinayak Ganapati Mandir in Mar'20 for the first time. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shri Ganesh and located in Prabhadevi, Mumbai. The temple has a small mandap with the shrine for Siddhi Vinayak. The wooden doors to the temple are carved with images of the Ashtavinayak and the inner roof of the temple is plated with gold. There is a Hanuman temple as well within the temple premises. When we visited on a Friday morning, there was moderate crowd and we could conveniently offer the puja and darshan. Post puja, we bought Laddu prasad from the counter and visited the entire temple premises. The temple campus houses several shops, selling puja sweets (modak) and puja offering. Also, there are several shops selling effigy of Idols and Souvenir items. No visit in Mumbai is complete without visiting Siddhivinayak temple - Would like to revisit again.

Amazing and enthralling experience at the Siddhivinayak Temple. It's at Prabhadevi, Dadar, Mumbai. Near the Dadar railway station. We had a very less wait in the queue and the experience of the darshan was superb. Inside the temple there is a Hanuman temple also where oil and black gram is offered.

Very beautiful mandir. Went there twice. But the management needs to review the organisation. You cannot pray while someone from the security is pushing you away. What's the use of me taking a flight to come so far and not even getting 1 min to pray? And also during covid times, you cannot touch me or push me sir! The security team is turning the temple into a market. Just change the procedures, give people dedicated slots to pray. Even the VIP line is not that well maintained. I opted for VIP last year, and this year the Rs100 queue. No difference observed. How come Mukesh Ambani who came after me, gets to pray for 15 mins and us, small people, only 30 seconds? 5 stars for mandir, 1 star for misorganisation.

Hey, Recently i visited Siidhivinayak temple in my car from Ahmedabad, I was also worried for the same reason for Parking - being Mumbai so congested. I tried googling for parking spaces and even tried calling temple but of no use. Then my wife came across this app called “Park+” which allows you to pre-book parking spots.
And lo and behold they had Siddhivinak temple parking listed. I booked it from that app and also got a discount on my next Fastag recharge on the same app. It was a very convenient parking experience for me.
I am not an Apple user so i don't have a link to their iOS app.
Hope this helps.
Ganpati Bappa Moriya!
