This is a small cave said to be built by pandavas during their journey of 14 yrs of exile.
The cave is not maintained and the only time it gets attention is during mahashivratri as it homes a shiv ling. Slums have completely covered the caves and you will not see anything apart from its dark enterance from outside.
I ve lived in Jogeshwari for 20 yrs but only visited this place a few times

Jogeshwari caves are ancient buddhist stuctures carved around 1500 years ago. They are located in middle of slum dwellings with entrance from busy street. Most of the intererior has been destroyed. The rest has been encroached with several recent shrines. When I visited several religious rituals including what appeared to be a wedding and a puja were underway. Still worth spending 30 mins if you are in the vicinity.

It's located in busy streets of Mumbai. Not difficult to walk to the site. Neat and clean roads. Can stop over for nice cup of tea and homely Maharashtrian breakfast on way or out. Major cave is huge with Big support pillars, it's dark inside with ganpati temple in center. Out of it's one of the doors you can see budha sculpture , still preserved well over the years. There are 2-3 more caves or narrow opening. Worth visit for historic heritage site buff. Can spend 1 hr. It's peaceful and reasonable clean.

The temple is in Jogeshwari in Mumbai, and it is much smaller than Elephanta or Kanheri Caves. It is also not much visited by tourists. But if you are nearby and able to visit, it is worth visiting. It is free to enter. Some of the statues and carvings are much damaged by time, water, and vandalism, but some of the statues are still well preserved and it is a good place to visit.

This temple is very hidden from civilization though right in the midst of it. You will be surprise that it is hardly recognized and known in Mumbai as a major destination though it dates to BC during the Pandavas. Hence it is a part of the Mahabharata story and houses all the important Indian deities- Shiva, Ganesha and Hanuman. Also the imp deity is of Jogeshwari mata. Very well preserved in its original form without much of concrete. One of the best temples to visit in Mumbai.. extremely non-commercial unline the other popular temples.

Jogeshwari Vikhroli Link Road is one of the most busy thoroughfares of Mumbai. Lakhs of commuters travel through it everyday, oblivious to the fact that they are passing by a piece of ancient Indian history & archaeology. I am referring to the 7th century Jogeshwari caves which are situated hardly 400 meters away from the Western Express Highway. The caves are modelled like caves at Ellora and Elephanta but it comes no where near them in grandeur or artistic quality. There are some panels, sculptures, carved columns whose condition have deteriorated over passage of time and due to neglect. Yet it gives a glimpse of the art of the cave temples of those ancient times. There are four temples within the caves dedicated to Jogeshwari Devi, Shiva, Ganesha & Hanuman. People still worship at these temples. The caves are relatively clean and one can spend about half an hour at the caves.
