Marve had become very dirty 5 years back with plastic waste littering the shoreline. This seems to have sorted itself out ( How?), and it is now relatively clean. Crowds have increased, in particular during weekends, and evenings. It is however smelly in most parts due to the fish being dried on the beach. Sunset over the waters is outstanding. Beach is not good for swimming due to rocky terrain. Two resorts on the beach, if you want to spend a night there. Ideally, if anyone you know has a shack on the beach ( or works for a company that has one), pile on to their hospitality.

its a normal beach which is a gateway to esselworld the amusement park.not for tourists as its a bit away from the city centre but frequented by locals and known for its fresh fish catch during early morning.

This place is more of a transit point for people who want to corss over to Manori (less than 10 minutes across the creek) or to Essel World (more than hour across the creek - to the North).
The beach is very small and a part of it is occupied by the Army's heaving Bridging Training Center.
The beach has a rugged terrain and a steep slope towards the sea.

Marve Beach is located in Malad Malwani. The beach has provision for boating which provides connectivity to a Buddhist meditation center and Pagoda located on an island near Marve beach.
This is a beach from where you can go to Essal World, Water Kingdom and Pagoda Temple.
Marve beach is a mediator for all these places.
Marve beach is clean beach as compare to others and it is protective by our Indian Navy. They always present at marve beach for their training and for our safety.
I always go there with my faily and friends and it a nice place for spemding the time with love ones and friends.
The most famous thing is Batata Wada , Maize, Tamarind and so on.
My favourite is Tamarind.
Marve beach is very cost effective for all the people.
You can go for birthday celebration also with frined.

Marve is basically a fishing village which is NOT exactly a beach. It is more of a jetty for fishing vessels and ferry rides to Essel World.
Especially at the time of low tide, it looks very dirty and smells very strongly of fish odor.

Didn't like much..

A small beach for ferry crossing to Manori Island most of the beach is under Indian Navy & Coast Guards. Best part is this small beach is easily accessible by Buses to and fro MALAD railway station so is very cheap. Riksawas are available in plenty and at times there are no vendors on the beach to bother you. From Malad West take bus for Marve beach, go early in the morning 6-8 Am. Evening its ok but being on western end It is very hot Sand is very hot and smelly if its low tide. Visit 2-3 hrs before High tide time in Mumbai.

Small beach with limited felicities, just for a hangout . Local fisher folks and hawkers were nearby. It is not safe to swim due to very swift current and sinking sand.

Went to a friend's beach house here but was exceptionally disappointed by the horribly dirty beach and sea and the type of people on the beach...there were very few but they were not the sort of public one feels safe with!

I have done many visits to Marve Beach over the last 29 years. The lure is the beach and the getting away from the daily slog in Mumbai. But that's it. It's great to hang about some of the privately owned beach shacks and guest houses and hotels but this is not a swimming beach due to a dangerous rip tide so the best you can do is hang about a swimming pool close to the beach and feel you are in Goa! But if you get caught in the traffic jam close to the beach you can forget about having a relaxed time. The stress will be back before you know it!

If you know somebody in the armed forces try and stay at INS Hamla. It's the best place on the beach.
