It was indeed a blessed experience to visit this synagogue which has a history of more than 150 years. Amazed at the architecture and also happy that it is well maintained even now. We were blessed to meet a member of this synagogue who gave...More

Magen David synagogue is an Orthodox Sephardi synagogue located in Byculla Mumbai. What I observed that this place need maintainance. I heard that this place is still there because of donations from abroad. This place is really calm and good.

Mumbai has several synagogues, all struggling with very few members, they survive primarily on donations from abroad. This one is particularly well maintained, in part because it still runs its large school -- 98% of whose students are Muslims.

This is one of the larger synagogues in Mumbai and pretty famous too. It was built by the Sassoon family and is worth visiting if you are in the Nagpada area near Byculla.
