One of the great sights of Bombay , brings together history and a beautiful postcard, through the bay. Not pay anything to enter and walk around. There are some photographers who ask to take professional photos and expect to receive an amount. There are counters that sell tours from Gateway up to the island of Gharapuri where it is possible... I suppose security is a big issue, so joining a long queue to be scanned before getting near the structure is to be expected. As are the railings and barricades that prevent you from going very near it or into the gateway passage. An imposing, if ordinary, structure that was built to commemorate (not welcome) a Royal visit.

Mumbai visitors will like it visiting the first time. The Gateway has historical significance and is a part of Mumbai heritage. You may opt for a steamer ride to spend those 15 minutes through the sea. Cleanliness could be improved, and the Government needs to do more to offer good places to eat at this place.

There is a security check point upon entering the Gateway, however I am not sure what purpose this is for as one just walks in through the gender specific lane without scanning or bag searches. This is an iconic landmark in Mumbai with the Taj Mahal Hotel just across from it. I don't think it matters what time of day... More

One of the iconic places to visit in Mumbai, with the iconic Hotel Taj nearby, there's lot of rush at the place and one needs to be careful with the kids. Good memoirs.

This is one of the tourist attractions in Mumbai. Hotel taj mahal is situated right opposite to this place. One can go on a boat ride at reasonable rates. Few eateries are also present fire you to munch along. You will also find photographers who charge you reasonable amount for clicking your instant pics. Evening 5 to 7 is the... More

You need to visit the place to see the beauty for yourself. Boats, water, architecture, luxury hotels, scenery - all in one spot. Great to go any time of the day. Nights are beautiful.
